Kraft Dinner and Oranges

Is drinking orange juice just as good as eating oranges? As
stupid as that might sound, I was actually thinking that
yesterday. So I didn`t buy oranges ...

Corrections ?

don't be fooled by the "100% orange juice" label. if its
squeezed orange juice (from an orange), then sure, its the
same as eating one.

also remeber any true 100% orange juice bought from
supermarkets will have been pasteurised thus denaturing
vital enzymes, changing the structure of various vitamins
(which makes the orange juice less nutritious).

The best way is to eat or juice an orange. remeber to drink
the juice as soon as you've juiced the orange, as many of
the nutrients are unstable and will breakdown quickly.

oranges, eh. i love the way they smell right when they get
peeled, when someone else is eating one. dont much like
eating them though. dont like orange juice much either.
dont like brushing my teeth and then drinking orange juice,
that's the worst.

i like a girl who eats a orange. they used to do that a lot
at my uni. just sit there in class and eat their oranges.
goddam i need to fuck me somehting right now.

can one live off just oranges? what about those other vital
nutrients?

ofcourse not, you need essential amino acids which can only
be found in animals. (their essential because your body
can't synthesise them). Oranges are great but by no means
perfect, you need to vary everything you eat. Aswell as
proteins/aminoacids, vitamins etc. you need fats (preferably
mainly poly- and mono-unsaturated fats), you'll find them in
nuts and avocados are a real big healthy source, olive oil
is all polyunsaturated and is a great substitute for butter;
a rule of thumb is that if it is solid at room temp. then
it's saturated and thus not as good for your body.

If you want me to go then by all means post again and I
shall continue :)

No matter how fresh or squeezed or pulpy the orange juice is
from the store it never tastes like the stuff you squeeze at
home.

actually what I said isn't strictly true, I should have been
more accurate and said you can find all the essential aa's
in one choice of meat (ofcourse that also depends how well
you cook it; rare is the most nutritious)

FlyAgaric: yes I do do Biology at school :)

and Marlowe: our ancestors didn't have addittives,
merchandising, an extortionate use of fertilisers and
intensive farming techniques etc.

2 onions
1 can baked beans
1 can kidney beans
1 can chopped tomatos
Chilli sauce, garlic, coriander, whatever etc (if you have
them)

Chop and fry onions. Drain sauce / liquid from beans and add
to wok. Add tin of tomatoes, half-drained. Add condiments
etc. Blend slightly if you have a food processor or
something. Makes a nice panful of slop that can be stored
and used in other recipes, good on toast with cheese or
cooked with a couple of scrambled eggs. One pan can last
about a week, only costs £1.50 or so.

some various sausages
tin of tomatoes
3-4 tins of various beans (butter, flagelot, kidney etc)
bacon
chorizo or similar spicy sausage
onion
mixed spices
carrots or a tin of carrots
potatoes or a tin of potatoes

just fry the bacon, sausages, onions, boil the carrots and
potatoes if they arent tinned, then make sure everything is
cut up and stuff and put it all in a big massive pot and put
a lid on and put it on a low heat for as long as you can
wait, from 1 hour to 24. eat it with bread. and put whatever
you like in it as well.

mono-unsaturated can be be found in all types of
nuts. Chestnuts are mainly water and are good for low-fat
diets, but still have the essential fatty acids. Pine Nuts
on the other hand are packed with fat (mainly good but some
bad).
Cashew nuts are rich in magnesium aswell as the essential
fatty acids. Pistachios have the highest content of
polu-unstaturates of any other nut. I could go on but it's
alot of info. General rule: replace butter and margerine
with olive oil/vegetable oils and saturated fatty snacks
with nuts.

potatoes area gold mine meng

buy one of those pans with the the heating element built in,
fill it with extra virgin olive (all the other types of oil
are bad for you) and after you've cooked the potatoes (slice
them into chips, or large flat chunks of potato, whatever
you want) don't bother draining the oil, just leave it in
the pan for next time

THAT MEANS NO CLEANING UP!

but some fries sprinkle seasoning, and some sweet chili
sauce

I reckon it cooks best when you put it on the highest
setting, but you might weant to do what I do and wrap a
towel around you arm when you flip the taters, the oil spits
and it hurts.

here's a really good recepie:

Lemon Chicken/Turkey

A lemon
Chicken Breast (replace with Turkey for a healthier option)
Chicken Stock Cube (OXO, Knorr etc.)
Flour
Cooking Oil
*by the way Refund, vegetable oils aren't bad for, it
depends on what your use for it is*

Cut the breast into strips and rub them with salt and then
flour (make sure they're covered fairly well with flour).
Put the oil in the pan (making sure the whole pan is covered
in a thin layer)and start to heat. Don't use olive oil as it
will overpower all the other taste. Put the kettle to boil
and pour the water it into a mug and put in the Stock Cube.
After the oil has heated (makesure it hasn't evaporated) put
in the strips of breast and wait while the meat cooks. When
you can see the strips becoming golden brown add the stock
solution and stir. Also add the the juice of a squeezed
lemon at that point and just wait until your left a thick
liquid ie wait for some of the water to evaporate. Let it
stand for a few minutes and serve. Garnish with some parsly
or corriander. Make sure you pour all the sauce into the
plate as that's whats going to drive you crazy for this
dish.

Enjoy!

Refund if you want an explanation just post an answer.
