P._NTIL is obvious for the hip hop beats

V-PROC on the other hand, is just as important.

it's so washed out with effects, but it's still there it's
great!!!!!

i could go on for draft for another 30 posts, so let me know

the problem with draft is that asect: dsect does what draft
wanted but much better

what i want to say is that you try to achive something and
then another person does the same that you do, but better...

dsect!! :)

btw, im writing that review now, and it should be like two
pages long, but i only wrote the intoduction so far and it's
over half page already :) i like ae and untilted a lot! <3

No, I can see where nacmat is comming from. I see lots of
similarities between the two releases, and asect:dsect
sounds a lot more impressive and polished to me.

I find Untilted more enjoyable than either release, however.

DO WE EVEN HAVe TO MENTION THE WICKED FAT BEATS ON RENIFORM
PULS?

YOU GUYS NEED TO UPGRADE YOUR LOW END SOUND SYSTEM.

*ahem* unmatched funkiness on 6ie.cr anybody?

oh and my notfinalatall verdict on untilted is that where
draft is hiphop, untilted is dance, and when autechre does
dance it starts to sound too generic for some reason. its a
great album at all, but i could see anyone with an ear for
sounds making this. draft, on the other hand, is autechre
and no other.

Both are flawlessly executed. They acheived exactly what
they wanted with each. It's just a matter of preference.

But as for asect:dsect
It's really murkey and not nearly as clear and precise as
Draft. Listening to it now and I think it's quite muddled,
I would say distant, veiled, or slow on the attack. And as
for creating a soundstage, well it does create *some space
every once and a while, but nothing like the way Draft opens
up. Just some pleasant and, I might say, busy use of
panning (but not distinctive)

6ie.cr is a HEAD NODDIN track no doubt
and the 2nd 1/2 is probably the most beautiful autechre ive
ever heard

bar none

thx for asking... i like untilted better 'cos it has fermium
on there, which i think is one of my favourite ae tracks of
ever, but then again 6ie.cr is also one of them. it's hard
to decide... i think the solution is to listen more ae!
well, i think i liked untilted best because it was easier to
comprehend it with fewer listenings, than with draft 7.30
which i had to study for a long time before "get it!" one
day after i had listened to all the EPs and LPs in sequence,
capping the experience by driving home and visiting the bank
while listening closely to draft 7.30. it had a lot to do
with learning how to apply hermeneutic interpretation to ae,
since now i think i know more about how their music works,
but ultimately yes you are correct that untilted took fewer
listens for me to know what it was about. i think draft
7.30 is a bit more blunted or dissociated, whereas untilted
is more optimistic or gregarious. gantz graf i got
immediately, which you may make of it what you will.

it's also funny, 'cos i made a compilation of ae tracks for
my friend nick who is my manager at work, and he is in his
60s i think or 50s, well i had made him a compilation of
squarepusher too but he gave it back, but he kept the ae
one, lol man.

i still like draft better then untilted. as mentioned: to
little space, or something. and the ambience and the
melodies are to low in the soundpicture. but the new stuff
works excellent live on a BIG soundsystem.

uncomparable

they are both fucking fat... no comparison or competition
possible. 2 styles of beats and tunes. draft is more
storylike, more human, untilted is too but more DJ, showy,
danceable, thats all. the cd's are constrastable but not
comparable.

reniform puls however is better than any other songs across
draft and untilted

"fermium

ever, but then again 6ie.cr is also one of them"

They actually have the same chord sequence and are very
similar in nature imo.

One musical idea I really like in Untilted is the "pah pah
pah" snare hits (like in tracks 1 and 4.) I know that sounds
silly, but there's something really addictive it.

yeah, I agree it sounds a bit silly but it´s actually adds
a lot to the track

untilted is a lot better than draft, I think... the melody
in track 2 is just amazing!

I don't think it's the rhythmic idea that is silly, just the
sound they use for the hit (which I personally find a bit
corny.)

I love track 2 as well. Especially the middle section and
the whole structure overall.

i can't compare really, i like both albums. both have great

and i think You can't write a genuine review not being a fan

oh, wait, i'm wrong. you CAN.

is Yours a negative review, Tolst ?

They may be able to improve upon the LCC version, but quite
franky seeing Ae live really raised to bar for me. :)

why is the hit sound silly and corny for you ?

LCC TRIPLE HIT - THAT'S IT !

and notice how it changes throughout the track - so you
would have to specify which of the x versions of it you
dislike

that was sooo ogoood

Haha, so much discussion over a triple hit.

I like the way it changes. It's just when I heard it for the
first time, right at the beginning of the track (before
other "versions" or modulations of the same sound came in) I
was like "eh?" I hadn't heard anything so "normal" from
Autechre in ages.

Who is it you like of best?

1] - Autechre

3] - Bring me my pool, Wooftie, I'm in the beer!!!!
4] - Autechre
