Draft is better! it is more industrial and I love industrial. There is less of definite mood in tracks (harder to tell whether the track is sad or not, which makes me think of a greater extent of freedom of the music - it seems to be more free and independent, as if it has been done by an abandoned factory (abandoned LONG time ago) full of automatic machinery which is working without a reason for working, but though no human beings operated them during music playing process, the factory is human-made anyway...

the only song with a definite mood on untilted i think is really sublimit, other than that it is more of a dj thing it seems, has such a ghost of old hip hop and electro... ghosts of some industrial like you were talking about also. its like a mixtape.
PERSONALLY for me, sublimit is kinda a sadness and longing for done-and-gone things and an overbearing excitement for future things man. that track is very wide and strong. very emotional track.
but oddly enough i think the moods of drafts tracks are more definite.

you get faked out more in draft and you can't block some of the beats, and you get killed. untilted is meaner and you just kinda get it right off but its still phat and it just kills you.

i didnt mean by that comment mean to say that djing was emotionless, more of a dancefloor thing .. not just sitting chilling and listening in your free time
any of you guys ever play ninja gaiden? or devil may cry 3? untilted is devil may cry 3. draft is ninja gaiden. you should understand this. like you really just have to balance your shit in dmc3 if you want to survive, and in ninja gaiden you know you just have to be heavy with shit, you know, keep track of what is going on, but you still get your ass kicked if you get lazy. but its a bit more lax. you dont have to put 100% into draft but you can. well i guess you don't really have to with untilted either but i'd say myself that its pertinent to do so.

heres another good example
i hitchhiked my way back to dallas from austin seeing autechre. the people who i went home with were into their stuff, and went to the concert but hadn't heard untilted yet. i described untilted to them as not extremely different from the stuff played live but also not extremely similar to it. haha, general enough? it was about 4am on the road when untilted came on in the cd-changer and LCC just sorta really scared the shit out of everyone who was trying to sleep. and i could just kinda feel the energy of everyone get all mixed up and to say the least i felt sort of bad. not really appropriate, especially considering since the last CD was like Beck or the gorilaz or something. LCC woke everyone up and got them all, "oh, man, is this the new shit?" - im like, yeah, its fat huh. but i felt really bad cause it absolutely un-chilled everyone in the car. but they said good words about it. "man, this is crazy but cool dude"
anyways, im sitting in the back embarassed and feeling guilty. and LCC ends out. comments from the dudes, "that wasn't so bad" etc, and then ipacial section comes on. not a fucking word was said. everyone was stiff and i think they were angry. i was like, "yyyyyyeeeeaaaaaah you guys can change it if you want to" and they did. really embarassing. too demanding for that mood you know. of course if id been at home at that hour w/ my phones i'd fucking be just, you know eating the beats up as usual
if itd been draft that would not have happened i dont think. the brain watches those songs more than it hears them if you know what im saying...the draft tracks work more on the subconsious level. and of course untilted does this too but draft is, i dont know, friendlier? similar to some of djkrush's shit or ken ishii's early songs.

yes, good story and good example of.. what?
i have quit making experiments with putting on ae to those who are not prepared to stuff like that. They, poor people, don't know that there is million times crazier music. Ok, last time i made such an experiment was with gantz graf video, i put a friend in front of the pc, pumped up the volume and pressed play. after small silence it started and the guy just SHOOK his body scared as hell. He then recovered and enjoyed the show, cause he was not absolutely unprepared.
So, cygnus.. who wins - Draft or Untilted for you? Or you like both?

draft was a monster of an album - offered more ideas, had more nooks and crannies, and had more to offer after repeat listenings. but i really liked it more because it functioned better as a whole - i never skip a track or put it on and only listen to one or two tracks when i listen to it. it was a multi headed hydra of an album, but worked.
untilted on the other hand is more of a mix of some really classic tracks, they function really well together, but eventually there are no unsung tracks, or tracks that only exist to add to the cohesiveness of the album - fermium is an alright track, but is the only track that tries to be a cohesive track. i think the album suffers in comparison to draft, in this respect. for me, i can put untilted on, and listen to a couple of tracks and skip around and come back to it, but where is the hold that draft has? dont get me wrong, i think untilt is one of their best, just not their best - thats draft :)

I'm not gonna push it. I'm just gonna lurk around in the corners and shadows...until one day. I will catch you listening to Amber nude, touching yourself. Then I will jump out of the shadows, yelling; "What did I tell you? Autechre is the best band in the world!" And very embarrassed you will mumble "yeah...Deep in my heart, I guess I always knew..."
What a day it will be! :D

i'll try to read to see how much i understand slovenian. so far i'm at no more than 25%.
on this site i have found a review of a disc called Kiko C Esseiva "Musiques pour haut-parleurs" - this guy came to Kiev once as a technician for the Vialka gig we've organised. They lived in our apartment.. Cool people. And his music is very interesting.. So this site jumped up my personal ratings since there is not much info on that disc on the web..
