Although it would appear that you have the best of intentions, realistically none of this would have happened if you would have just kept quiet about the whole banning issue. Not to be a dick but alot of the trouble came from your threads and constant persistance. This doesnt really help either. I respect the fact that you are bummed that one of your friends is gone. As i posted in another thread: Can you really ban me? Of course we can. If we find you annoying, destructive for the mb or behaves in a "bad" way - then we won't hesitate to ban you. If you notice the underlined text it shows that moderators work as part of a moderation team. "If we find you annoying" would imply that more than one moderator is annoyed. That it was discussed and justly decided upon. I believe that this very text which is used as an ample reason to ban people is being used as an unfair loophole. "we" implies the team aspect of a community. |

My threat to Bill Hicks was as a result of him effectively calling me a liar. I had already stated that his accusations that Marshmelo and Jedi Chris were the same person were untrue. He persisted, saying that he didn't, 'trust [me] one bit '. I have not once lied on this message board, in all the years I have come here. For someone to accuse me of doing so, especially on a matter that is so factually black and white, is certainly worthy of a warning of a temp. ban. At the risk of being seen to be antagonistic, I might remark that your suggestion that I have in any way shown favouritism towards either Marshmelo or Jedi Chris, could itself be deemed to be questioning my integrity in a similar vein. |

You think it's worth the massive time/cost necessary for that sort of system for something as banal as a messageboard?! Bill Hicks: Phobiazero moderates the moderators of course. Who moderates him? No one- it's his site, he can close it tomorrow or ban whomever he likes, for whatever reason. Of course I understand Bill Hick's POV, he doesn't know me and his petulant attitude causes him to have a problem with any sort of 'power' (as if being able to close threads and ban people was any sort of real control over him). As a result, he is perhaps filled with a mistrust of me and is certianly 'looking for a fight'. I would argue he probably doesn't think I'm actually lying, more he's just out for a wind-up, which is part of the reason he was threated with the temp ban. I now ask you to return the favour and to look at it from my POV: I know both Marshmelo and Jedi chris. I know that they are different people. To me, this is not a grey area, it is a factual truth. Someone, who is in a position which makes them less well informed argues that this is not the case. I point out that my position of knowing the users concerned in the real world shows this to be untrue. He still persists in his argument. I explain that I take offence to being called a liar, particularly as I have been made a moderator by Phobiazero. He cannot even pinpoint his reason for not trusting me, nor give an example, with proof citing where I have been shown to be a liar in the past. Instead, he resorts to vagaries such as, "[I] don't know what it is but there is something about you that doesn't quite sit right.". Can you see why I take offence? |
