since the info on how to get to the bloody thing are only
going to be sent out 3 weeks in advance, and i need to book
flights now in order to get em cheap(ish), where the eff
should i fly to, in order to minimise the difficulty in
getting from the airport to the festival?

I was thinking about this myself earlier today. I would
email whoever you purchased the tickets off with your order
reference number and tell them you need the info and why.

I would say fly to an airport in England at the very least.

Check the glade forums. I'm pretty sure it's the same place
as last year although they don't seem to spell it out quite
that simply, but if it is then Reading station is where you
will have to go through.

Fly into Heathrow and then get the train to Paddington. From
there you can go to Reading on a First Great Western train.

You still have to go through Reading to get to Newbury I
think. I am paragliding

I'll be not getting there by staying home. Damn age limit

It's not that difficult. Reading to Newbury was about 6
quid. London to Reading probably isn't much more than 10
quid. In fact...

... thetrainline.co.uk says a single from Heathrow to
Newbury is £14 for a bus to Reading and then a train to
Newbury. So that's piss easy.

thing that happens really.

Peeps - I live about a mile away from the site. It's in a
place called Aldermaston (the site of the Atomic Weapons
Establishment - this is not on maps for obvious reasons).

Go from Paddington to Reading and from there on go to
Aldermaston station - not Newbury or Basingstoke, because
that would involve a lot of fucking about.

The place is sign posted but still a little way off.
If you can't be arsed to walk you can get a taxi.
A good local firm is Miles Cheaper.
Their number phone number is 01189816840
You could call them early to book a taxi, or minibus.

So remember PADDINGTON to ALDERMASTON.

maybe its not that usefull now, but heres the glade org
answer to my question:

"Heathrow is definitely the nearest airport to the sight,
Gatwick is second nearest. From Heathrow you will be able
to get a train to the site very easily."

Last year i got a Ryan air form Rublin to Bristol, train to
Reading then train to Newbury
and the Glade bus picked us up from there. Its was a
piece of piss and on the way met lots of
Gladesters and had a laugh. Its alway gonna be a slight pain
travelling to festivals but once you
pitch that tent its soooo worth it.

I was thinking of going via London this time but i believ
it'd cost the same in plane/train fares but would take a
little longer so may just go from bristol where i know a few
folks who'd provide grassage.

hrmm.. i think i'll just fly to heathrow, if glade are
saying it's the nearest.. sounds the easiest...

Not sure actually pOgO. I know that I'm staying in Cardiff
for the majority of the summer (then we can meet up and get
wrecked). Really not too sure about that one. I'll
definitely get in touch if I'm travelling from Caerdyydd
though.
