well the artwork or label is up on rephlex, and samples
should be coming up this week. :) I'm actually diggin six as
well.

A1-Lisbon Acid= long track, unless there is a hidden track
B1&2-'Pitcard' & 'AFX Acid 04' are probably only a few
minutes a piece...or vice versa.

i wonder if 8-9-11's titles were changed...b/c 10 has
somewhat normal titles, or non virus titles...and the
previous and ep that follows have them. silly richard

analord 10's titles dont fit in with 8, 9, and 11and the
results are not aesthetic.

xmd5a isn't a normal title...but it doesn't have

W32.My[XMD5A]doom.AU@mm

in it either...

the 'md5' part could well be related to md5 verification (a
means of checking software/files have not been tampered
with).

My rating of the Analords so far.

1 - Weak/Average
2 - Fantastic
3 - Weak/Average
4 - Weak/Average
5 - Very Good
6 - Average/Good
10 - Very Good

im a bit full of music atm i think..i usually have these
periods here and there and they last for a couple of weeks
so im quite used to it :)
there's nothing in particular i enjoy or look forward to,
but i've been listening to quite a bit of albert ayler's
music and i like that a lot..and it's like 40 years old
music..

pfffhh. analord 1 is really underrated. the highly praised 2
is rather boring compared to 1 imo.

Steppingfilter 101, MC-4 Acid,Untitled Where's Your
Girlfriend and Grumpy Acid are all excellent tracks.
deserves more <3

devine is fantastic no doubt about that, and im pretty sure
i'll like the new one, eventhough im really not that excited
about any music atm..btw, i'll probably go to his gig in
couple of weeks..i loved him when i saw him just before the
asect dsect came out..great guy!

i can't see how someone wouldn't prefer analord 10 over all
the others. still, i like them all. analord 7 sounds
exciting, especially lisbon acid.

Pitcard sounds fucking excellent, fullsome, that's more like
what I was hoping Analord would be, bit more BALLSY.

Lesbian Acid sounded promising.

why 'eh' for Analord 3? it's got Klopjob on it. Aside from
that it's as good as vol.4, probably better.

5 and 6 were pretty nice, but they are nowhere near as
exciting as 7.

pitcard = <3

in response to Staz, the reason why so many prefer Analord
10 over the others is because it sytlistically reminds them
of the gfood ole days of Aphex twin. The other analords,
especially to aphex twin fans that arent fans of acid
techno, can sound very trite in comparison.
If all of the analords sounded like 10, i would be very
excited.

offline Key from Bbbbarrow-in-f (United Kingdom) on 2005-04-24 13:47 [#01575451]
Points: 857 Status: Lurker

Yeah I heartliy agree.
I think Analord 10 was Aphex saying I can still do this but
I dont wanna. The other Analords have yielded some awesome
career best tracks from him in my opinion, but I an really
more interested in Aphex's skills with breaks and synth
melodies cause I just personally prefer that style. I love
how he morphs the 303 but we've heard literally dozens of
tracks in the past year that basically cover similar
ground.
The weird thing is I feel bad kind of complaining because I
do like these tracks, and we're lucky he is releasing them
for us to hear, he could quite easily just make them for his
own pleasure if thats what he's been into for the past year,
but his insistence on sticking to one style is kind of
self-indulgent but hey what are you gonna do, its his
choice.

Overall: Analord series fantastic
but what is he gonna do next?

Key, couldn't have stated it better myself.

I love aphex twin, if it wasnt for his ground breaking
electronic music i wouldnt be listening to half the music i
listen to today.
