And you've been making music how long?

Sorry big but I just didn't like this. I've heard stuff of
yours before and it was infinitely better.

i hope you meant it as a compliment :)

i think you used a bit too much delay on this one. it
throws off the rhythms. i like the synth riffs, but
everything is too saturated in delay. also, maybe think
about making the beats heavier-sounding. give them some
more bass and perhaps compress them.

okays, too bad, it's meant to sound sound really computer
cold
actually the concept was untilted meets analord

mm, i thought there was alot of bass in them, maybe it's my
system only
yea, i wanted to use alot of delay, i thought the delay
times nicely worked together (they are all different)
btw this is my first track on which i havent used presets
i hoped you guys would like it more, actually i wanted to
explore this sound further, maybe it's just too new?

It's a nice idea but it needs refining mate. Work on it a
bit longer and tighten it up a bit. Really rein in the delay
so that it works for the timing rather than against it.

The latter half has something to it (nice soundscape), but
the soft-synth is pretty dreadful. like giginger said,
hyperdelaying ain't the best way to go about, at least
second-filter it somehow perhaps?

The bass/drum department is above average.

I give it C+.

a). The name is great.
b). Too much delay is a good thing in my book.
c). I really like it, go Big! I think it builds nicely, I
like the way it ends, and I applaud your bid to do something
new.

it's a bit sad track

r40f might be right about the drums, they might be stronger.

but imo the track has it's own mood, it's quite
biggie-style, i like it the way it is [ yeah, except that
delay maybe... ]

don't give up

bump
i still think it's my bestest track
maybe i should've added a pad, if only noise, and maybe the
last synth sounds a bit less good, but that's it
what do you mean with second-filtering boxbob?

Practically every single response I have heard about music
in here lately;

1-Needs tightening
2-Needs more bass
3-Make the beats beefier

Somebody needs to write a shell for this site that just
randomly adds one of those three pieces of advice to every
thread that starts with [spam]...

The link didn't work... so I couldn't listen to it, but, if
I did I might think it needs a bit more loosening, its too
bassy, and if those beats were any beefier little chunks of
hamburger would be spewing out of my subwoofer. Change those
things and you might have yourself a workable track m8 :)

Kay... this time it worked... I really liked the second
half, but I thought the first half sounded a bit too
fruityloops... and that reverbed noise sound that shows up
every bar is kind of annoying.

it's kinda cool, but it should have a big fat hip hop beat
under it and maybe some suburban highschool gangstas rapping
on it. that would be ILL!

if you were to drop a huge Kill Bill theme song kinda hip
hop drum beat at about the 2:00 mark, this track could be
sweet like hella dope word g bomb sweet serious!

haha, you guys are funny :)
well the joke on you, taxxidermatron, is that i got that
fruity remark quite often in the beginning of my music
making, but now i didnt use any fruity. nevertheless i guess
you're right, but fruity sounds better then this. oh, i did
use fruity, 404, for the main melody in the beginning and
the bass
i especially agree with evolume about not changing anything
anyhoo: tnx alot for listening everyone

offline BoxBob-K23 from Finland on 2005-03-27 04:44 [#01544780]

big: by second-filtering (an ad hoc phrase) I just meant
minimizing the spill-over effect by one way or another
modulating the output delay. Maybe not the kind of autechre
hyper-cautious overproduction, but something like variable
pan/freq/treble-control.

Anyway, just a suggestion. ;) I like the latter synths
though.

and yes, the fruity-sound comes through, especially where it
was actually used, like you say. I would've put the
fruity-melody through some kinda FX-machine and twist some
extra knobs, coz knobs i like, round and hard.

what's a good acid plugin? and i dont mean the running

sound

Well, I don't mean the second half sounds too fruityloops...
the first half does though. i really think if you removed
the first part, and expanded on the latter, you would have a
serious killer song there.

The jokes on me? I am a matron?

okay, no funnies then
erm, i just thought that 404 thing couldnt sound fruityloops
since it's only one oscilator wave in this case.., i like
the sound of the bass of it anyway

No... I didn't mean the 404... there is a bunch of stuff
that makes the same sounds as the TS404 (although flp's 404
does sound skinnier than the other ones I have tried).

I was meaning the way it was sequenced had that fruityloops
sound... but its just the beginning of the song.

Don't jump on me for hearing how something was sequenced. I
know the 16 beat thing is standard, but songs made in each
program seem to sound sequenced differently, and I don't
know a better way to describe it)

oh, i stretched my back though by programming to 1/3 and the
delay sounds.
it was just a concept to make it sound like that, much like
ae and untilted i tried it (i presume you mean the beats
now)
