I don't see why everybody needs to get together just to
bitch at eachother, and talk about the messageboard.

I would hate to be a girl at this thing. There would be 100
sweaty stinky and desparate guys for every one girl. Unless
the girl is into the sweaty stinky desperate type, cause
then she could probly get a tensome or two.

I met one of my very good friends off a forum once. I don't
see it is odd or geeky really, just a new way to meet
people. If you enjoy talking on a forum/msn, chances are
you'll be fine in real life.

Yeah, I have met a couple people in real life that I met
here. But still, a convention? That just rings of startrek.
Not saying I won't go if it happens in vancouver (which it
should, because this city repeatedly gets voted by everyone
as the most beautifull city in the world and it is beautiful
even though i want to move to a different city asap), then I
will go.

I think absolutely everyone here says what they think. To me
there is a very small number of people that generally think
this is a bad idea.

I think that people that get along well think its a great
idea and people that have been critisized within the last
couple of months due to certain events dont think its a good
idea and are generally negitive about it.

I respect his right to hold that opinion. Although i dont
agree with it.

Well I still want to meet people. If they're assholes then I
won't talk to them.

Talk to Skink on here and he seems very negative. Talk to
him in real life however and he's a really good person.
Interesting to talk to and full of good things to say about
people and life.

there you go - internet personae and regular people are
different things... that being said, if I could enlarge a
room by shouting W@ consecutively many times (this thread
doesn't deserve to be ruined/trolled to death), I'd do it in
real-life too!

Why the hell isn't it London?

- the most central place
- the IDM scene
- one of the most cultural and interesting cities in the
world
- mini cabs

close to where you live

yeah it is fucking expensive, us country folk from the
deepest darkest West Country cant afford a cup of coffee in
london!!

london probably is an "IDM city" not that most people would
notice. it does seem to have a higher concentration of IDM
things/stuff than other cities

i would've thought sheffield would've been a more likely
candidate for "the IDM scene".

plus my mates know some great pubs there.

activity these days?

i have no idea, to be honest, but a large amount of amazing
talent has come from that city in the past.

You guys are right, London is a massive expense, can be
ridiculous at times.

And thanks Cuntychuck, you cut me deep. Nice Orson Welles
picture, btw.

Bristol is a bit of an electronica hotspot these days.
Fairly expensive though I think... I don't think Sheffield
is up to much lately.

But I'll say what I've said all along; the only thing that
would ever work is Glade or something very similar because
you have a big base group of members already going, it
doesnt need any organising, there no requirement to spend
much time with people if you dont get on, theres music worth
travelling for anyway. I think realistically less than 5
people would probably travel a large distance.
