I don't think it's even possible to predict what new
Autechre releases will sound like anymore. I love them.
They're not following any formulas or riding any trends.
It's not like they're going to 'go trip-hop' or something.

I can already see the futile attempts at a description:

Pitchforkmedia.com review:

Autechre - Cloying Paralyxix : : 2329
our rating : 5.9

Manchester duo Sean Booth and Rob Brown release their most
dumbfounding and vitriolically experimental release yet with
this Cloying Paralyxix : : 2329. Clocking in at well over an
hour, the Ae boys twist and mutilate their machinery with
perverse prowess that recalls Warp comrades' Richard D.
James and Tom Jenkinson's work. Fans of the duo will be
happy to hear a welcome return to form in 'Ghartifgler,' a
twelve-minute mind-trip full of bumping electro beats and
delicious glitch-fuckery. Sean and Rob also show their
reclusive melodic side, albeit briefly, with '33
Krdfisspoppy,' a romping, hypnotic ride full of angished
synths and beautiful floating textures that recalls the work
of composers like Steve Reich and Philip Glass . Still, the
centerpiece of this opus is 'Brickbreaker Malignance,' as it
conjures up lurid images of mechanical grasshoppers and
burning cityscapes.
Still, while Autechre once again show that they have an
unparalleled symbiosis with their machinery, Cloying
Paralyxix does not seem so much a progression as a
regression, and ultimately lacks conviction. Tracks like
'Salonbusterglittish' and '45894hhrr' pop and fart their way
over their 20 minute durations but seem to go nowhere. Have
Autechre reached their sonic limits? Maybe not, but we'd
still prefer a release that hearkens back to the innovation
of seminal albums like 'Tri Repetae' and 'LP5' instead of
more soulless wankery.

you forgot to try and fit the whole review into some kind of
sought anecdote.

oooh this is fun, let me try

Pitchforkmedia review:

Autechre
This Album Title Rocks [Warp; 2005]
Rating: 3.4

I was on my way to work this morning - no wait, I don't have
a job, what am I saying? Okay, well I was on my way
somewhere, and I happened to catch sight of an old abandoned
warehouse. I thought, well, this could be interesting. I was
secretly hoping that I'd find some change inside but let's
just keep that between you and me.

Inside were many dusty skeletons with cobwebs all over them.
And when I stomped my foot on the ground, they all jumped up
and started dancing. I asked myself "should i join them?"

I decided not to, and it was at this point I was scared
shitless and ran the fuck outta that joint.

Track 6 of Autechre's newest album is quite the opposite of
this anecdote. I understand completely what I'm saying and
don't really give two shits whether you get it or not. I may
not have a job, but I got a little something called "wit"
and don't have to explain myself to you philistines.

And so, the 3 of you on acid that understand my review, to
you I beckon thee to NOT get this album, because surely,
you're much like me: with not nearly enough money to pay for
this album, or the time to spend listening to it because we
need to spend it trying to get a job of some kind.

backwards/or sideways.

dont get me wrong; eveything they do is rad.

-but i would like to see them tweak out more.
morr.
and also release a goddamn remix album.

or 3.
