long distance relationships.

They're not easy but they can work. Depends how much you
want it to work though I think. My girlfriend was in New
Zealand for the best part of a year and in that time I saw
her for a two week period when I went to visit. We're still
together and she's back in the UK. Still sort of a long
distance relationship as I only see her for about days a
month when I go to visit her at Uni. They do work and it's
worth it. Maybe my relationship is the exception or we both
actually gave a shit about each other enough to make it
work.

But I agree: proximity is crucial. But like my moms always
says, "If it's meant to be, then it'll be." Which means,
"date people while you still can."

Well, as many have stated....long-distance relationships
usually do not work....usually. I myself am in one and have
been in one for 2 years now. She lives about a 1000 miles
away from me. The thing about long-distance relationships
is that sooner or later somethings gotta give....it just
varies from couple to couple. I myself am going to move
down there (San Antonio Texas) by the end of Summer '05 at
the latest.

I've heard quite a few stories where such relationships have
worked out and both parties are happy together. As wimp's
mom said.....if it's meant to be then it'll be. Use
whatever outlet sources you can to find the right one. If
your both serious about one another and want to take the
next step....something will give. Most people just get too
attached too soon and everything backfires. Just give it a
shot....there's no harm in trying.

Here we are together when I went down and saw her:

Heh, I don't think I look that young. My pictures in the
pic thread show more justice of my age (20) than that one
does I guess. As for her, she's 18...and yes she does look
young, but a lot of asians tend to look younger than they
really are. Ah well, I can live with it....just means it
will have major benefits as we grow older. :]

I know a couple people who can only have long distance
relationships, but thats usually cause they're likely to
sleep around, and its easy to lead that lifestyle when you
only see your g/b/f once or twice a month.

Those kinda people usually ballance out after a couple
years, and then start looking for a real relationship.

I spent two years (not sequential) away from my g/f and
we´re together and stronger than ever. True love conquers
all. Ain´t you seen the movies?!
