stream MP3s to home stereo?

I've got several gigs of MP3s backed up on my computer. I
can play those MP3s on either of my computers via a wireless
network, but i still have to burn CDs to listen to them on
the home stereo.

Does anyone know of a good way to stream them to the stereo?
Any good high quality stereo components that are capable of
this? Browsing shared folders through stereo components?

I've stumbled across this [cd3o.com] which looks
promising. but, i'm a little sceptical of how you browse
the folders:

"cd3o's innovative Voice-Guideâ„¢ remote control lets
you browse your entire music collection from the comfort of
your easy chair.
"

I'd like a nice, sorta large LCD screen that's visible from
15 feet or more, or something like that.

Any ideas?

There are similar devices that use your television to
display the GUI.

I'l get one of these when they are voice (or mood)
contolled.

Hm soundblaster has a new one out that has an lcd sceen in
the remote, but I don't think it supports WMAs, and I know
you encode most of your stuff a WMAs

nah, i'm doing mp3 and flac. no wma.

but, i have heard that the wma codec is capable of higer
quality than mp3. but, for compatability reasons it's crap.

I was just kidding.

Dlink is the one I've seen that works with the TV (seems
like that would be a pain in the ass though).

http://www.dlink.com/products/DSM-320/flash-demo.asp

It does make everyone smile though.

xD

how intuitive is the interface for that netgear one?

is it fairly easy to browse 4 or 5 folders deep? and would
it still be visible from across a room?

that looks like the best option i've seen so far.

think it's even based on linux.

you could always get a ps3 and just stream them through
that, through your stereo. if you feel like shitting out
$400 US, that is.

you can just get one of those things, hook it up to your
ipod or whatever and just plug it into the back/front of
your stereo, not that expensive.

its not much more complicated than running your mp3 songs
through your car, via your ciggs lighter

fuck, even grampa Xlt knows that.

You want to play mp3's through your stereo that has no
input? (hence you have to burn cds to hear anything?)

it hasnt got any phono ins?

has it a tape deck ? you can buy a tape adaptor to mini jack
come out your computer or ipod ?

if not and you have cash buy a new amp with inputs. cable it
direct to your laptop.digital tos link spidf digital or
phono, init.!
