What a top job by XLT 2004 runner up second favourite
poster, qrter. And he even let Big onto the compilation.
Excellent. Well done, WELL DONE. Sterling effort by all
involved, I am looking forward to having my ears interfrred
with today by this classical slab of digital melodies.

I should point out that i AM enjoying it, only it's more
Ambient Soundscapes than classical music.

offline vlari from beyond the valley of the LOLs on 2004-12-01 09:48 [#01411804]

i guess it's more 'contemporary' than classical, but it's
the best one yet imo.

i like: [12] [22:51] [sick to the back teeth] - NASA versus
F.T. Marinetti the best.

offline marlowe from Antarctica on 2004-12-01 09:49 [#01411805]

Some Strings and Horns soundfonts don't Classical music or
'contemporary classical' make.

you're absolutely right. but contemporary can mean so much,
and... ...actually i think i'll join you and say that it's
more like ambient soundscapes.

and here's to me being marked by the beast.

i think it was intended to allow a wide variety of
approaches, classical or classical inspired, or even using
"classical" recordings as source material. i'm sure you'll
agree that a strictly "classical" compilation would have
been too restrictive... and there would have been far fewer
entries.

offline Bremzen from utrecht (Netherlands, The) on 2004-12-01 11:11 [#01411902]

read qrter's post about the compilation...
and, classical is a broad term... i always think it's silly
to use the term classical when the music is made with
instruments from the orchestra pit...
ohwell, whatever

and, btw... strictly spoken 'classical music' means the
style of music as in mozart, haydn and early beethoven... so
there!

qrter - i've got to say, you've done a great job with this
compilation! it's flawless. well worth the wait...

and i really like all the songs a lot - i'm really impressed
by the level of quality on this comp.

[10] [17:09] [murw] - gentle anarchists

This track contains nice little subtle clicks and pops.
Almost as though there are small termites in my speakers
fucking with the wires and such! This is a nice one to
listen to!

:D!!!!

This is the soundtrack to when you "get that bad feeling"
followed immediately by "Intense fleeing the scene" followed
by a "vicious brutal attack orchistrated in a friendly
manner".

[15] [34:22] [fleetmouse] - infants of almond and pearl

This is just classy! I see the Pink Panther all disoriented

on acid and booze and he is trying to investigate a crime.
His search turns up nothing because he consistantly searches

the same two rooms.

But everytime he enters that room it seems new. Everytime he

opens a draw that has been opened before it is new. It is an

endless cycle.

It continues for the next 8 hours until police find him
passed out at the scene of the crime. He is later arrested.

As it turns out, he was the one that actually committed the

crime. Without knowing/remembering this (due to the acid
binge) he forgets and trys to solve the crime that occured
during his frenzied state.

A+

:O

That piano is beautiful! I love the effects that seem to be
grinding a knife in my speakers trying to kill them slow and
painfully.

Now take what i just said and go back to that piano melody
and look at how beautiful murder can be. See how bizarre and
beautiful that is.

Almost like a numb rage from an artist that kills half the
audience that is there. He then films it and finds it to be
so breath taking he tries to release it as art but instead
he gets arrested and convicted for 53 counts of 1st degree
murder.
