..was finally released about 90 minutes ago..!

I've only played for about 20 minutes and this looks FUCKING
incredible, even under my shitty graphics card.

the lighting, the AI of the military police.. the sounds,
the voice-acting - the constant propaganda being spewed by
dr. Breen is great!

Got it! Hee hee, the guy in the shop was like "Now, you do
realise that you play this game you need to be connected to
the Internet, which requires a dial up modem or a broadband
connection, and because of this "Internet" you won't be able
to take the game back if you don't like it, right? Do you
understand?"

He was brilliant!

697 minutes remain on the download.

well, you won't get all of Valves back-catalogue and no
Half-Life:Source for you.

and if I compare prices here in the Netherlands I actually
got a better deal than if I had bought the dvd-rom.

Well, that's what I get for trying to start the pre-load at
the last minute: approx. 2500 minutes of updating...

brokephones: That was Samuel L. Jackson? Well, it's been a
few years since I last saw JP, so your memory is fresher
than mine.

steam, which seems buggy, sounds like you better buy it in a

because not everyone has these problems and you can get
extra stuff.

I had the game ready to play when it was released this
morning.

I have had no problems at all.

think I'll be able to get out of my 650mhz processor with

Hmmm, I've just read a review of it and it appears that what
I feared would happen has come to pass:

"...there are a lot of echoes of the original Half-Life
in Half-Life 2--so many, in fact, that there's a strong
sense of déjà vu at times.
"
"Surprisingly, Half-Life 2's story is one of the most
disappointing aspects of the game.
"
"Another surprise is the somewhat disappointing
performance by the game's artificial intelligence.
"
So then, all of the original's strong points (to me at
least) are left out and replaced by what the first Half-life
didn't have:great graphics and engine. :|
*forgets about buying a new computer*
