Yeah, they gave it a 9.2, which is pretty good for Gamespot. Only elite games get above 9 there, Doom 3 got a paltry 8.5, so they care about more than just graphics... hell, they gave GTA-SA a 9.6 and it's pretty rough looking. They're just nitpicking with the story, I'm sure it'll be so immersive that you'll FEEL the narrative more than anything. |

I played the game for an hour or so, Loved it. How long is this game? because I kept holding back because i didnt want the coolness of the begining to stop. |

well, you could try playing it yourself before letting your whole idea of the game be formed by one (1) review. I've playing for a while now and it's FUCKING great!! this gameworld is incredible! |

I was only trying to keep myself from rushing out to the store in a crazed fashion feeling wrongly justified about spending money I don't have on a new computer and Half-life 2 to show it off with, but now you've brought me to the point where all I need is someone telling me this sluggish machine not worthy the title of computer is in urgent need of replacement so thank you very much. |

Gamespot is jaded, anyway. They're invariably the lowest scoring of all the gamesites/mags. They're the hardest and sneeriest. |

HL2 is amazing... Just seeing the hopeless looks on the workers faces in the beginning really got to me. I actually felt bad when I looked into their eyes. Creepy. |

did you try switching that thing-a-majig on in Kleiners lab? there's this thing right besides the entrance with a little cactus on it. I walked over to it and just tried switching it on. it works. fun little detail. :) |

ophecks, i would be suprised if you were able to play this game with those specks... the 32mb videocard should be ok (considering the fact that qrter is running the game...) but 650Mhz is pushing it i think.... |

I'm playing it with just a 16Mb graphicscard, which makes for choppy movement, certainly - if there's a lot happening it can be very annoying. but I do have 1.5Ghz, which helps a bit, I guess. |

my machine exceeds the the suggested specs, but it still runs kinda jumpy at times at 800 x 600. seems to take a really long time loading up too. but the environment is awesome. i haven't really gotten into the game too far, but i was a little disappointed that the combine soldiers couldn't tell that i was throwing things at them until i hit them. |

Will it work ok? P4 2GHz 512 DDR 60HDD fresh install so plenty of room Radeon 9800XT - 256 I'm dying here. I think I might camp outside in a tent next to my mail box. |

looks like it. for comparison, my ridiculously low specs: P4 1.5GHz 256 DDR 60Gb GeForce 2 16Mb especially my graphics card is insanely under the suggested specs, but I can still run the game (albeit choppy). and eventhough I've had turn off just about all the eye-candy it STILL looks amazing. so you should be more than fine. |

Right now I'm at a really intense part where you have to drive that miniskiboathoverthingy through toxic waste while helicopters drop bombs and shoot at you. Quite exhilerating.
