[TECHNICAL] Announcement regarding new lines

OK, there was a lot of exploitation of the feature of that
pressing Enter in the Comment box is resulting the same
number of linebreaks in the final post. If definitely ruins
readability IMO. I did not like the guys who did it usually
at all when it happened, and hunted them down, but it will
be better to make it automatic.
From now the engine will reduce any newlines repeated more
than 2 times into one line break in the result.

Thanks to the exploiters. Sorry.

This makes a significant impact on my comedic timing,
tunemx.

Did you think about the implications before you did this?

No more empty pages, buddy.

You have to express your comedic timing somewhere else,
then.

on a side note.

a minor problem i keep running into:

when someone posts a link to a member's profile page and i
try to follow that link, i get a page which says i'm not
logged in, while i most definately am. i use firefox 0.8.

nothing problematic, just weird.

doesn't sound like something that will bother me.

though this does mean people who do use multiple breaks will
now rely on the more annoying period or the dreaded infinite
underscore. :(

This happens to me too and I'm running IE.

I have to delete my cookies before I can even log back in.

It's just started recently.

Look.

I keep getting logged out on the work computer. Randomly
I'll just be logged out and then I have to delete all my
temp internet files and cookies.

This is a recent development. I'm blaming the IT dept at
work.

be sure.

could you make it so that THREE repeated lines collapse into
two, while two stay two instead? Paragraphs need only be
separated by one line, but different topics is often nice to
have two lines between.

The profile problem:
You provided a link with www.xltronic.com, but you are
logged under xltronic.com... (Unfortunately browser cookies
understand it as a different domain, and they won't show
up)

It's possible to fuck up the board in many ways if you are
willing to go to the trouble of manually inserting the code
into the post, but acting that way will probably result in
any and all coding options at all being disallowed, which
would be a shame.

All it takes is for people to have a bit of thought for the
other readers of the board when you post.
