Attention: Server upgrade!

We'll be migrating to a "much" faster server sometime
soon... More CPU, storage and RAM = Faster database access
and general performance improvements.

Downtime and other details will be announced later.

I can't say I've experienced that much trouble using the
board.

What's the reason for the change if I may ask?

we have lots of content to be added - that along with new
site graphics + navigation = more server load. besides,
we've had this server for almost two years now and you know
the deal with time vs hardware.

i know the current hardware is enough for now, but we want
margins for future purposes.

we like margins - that's all.

Sometimes certain searches i conduct lag for a while. Would
this problem be solved with the upgrade? I was thinking yes
but then again my knowledge of this stuff is quite limited.

it on 27.2.04, and supposedly it was going to happen real
soon. i'm assuming not, cuz nothing has changed!

damn, I hope those donations keep coming in then. Have you
thought about making all users pay for registration? Even
it is only $1 per year for a basic account it would still be
some help towards the cost. Maybe you could do a 20 day free
trial or something?

I think it would be just the thing. Even if we lost 50% of
the members, that is still $1 x 1500 = $1500 , plus about
50 members would go premium so that would be about $2000 in
total . I think it would be worth it.
