Sun Ra - Space is the place 5/5

Black Hawk Down - some of the most intense fights I've ever
seen, quite refreshing to see a war movie not set in Vietnam
or in WWII but in 1993, great choice of actors, the Somalian
landscape certainly gave beautiful shots, the end is kind of
wank after all that happened before it. 3/5

We Were Soldiers - something was missing, can't quite put my
finger on it, I think the visuals were too bland after
seeing movies like Band of Brothers or Saving Private Ryan,
the ending is good though. 3/5

I've also seen Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Next Generation
last night for the 4th time, I love it, to my surprise after
seeing the IMDB page most people seem to hate it like I hate
Will Smith movies, the original is dark and not comical but
that's what I like about this movie, it's dark comedy,
straight from the 80's. 4/5

And I'll be keeping away from the 2000's remakes/sequels, I
can't stand modern actresses with their "oh look at me"
acting and pretty boy male actors.

25th Hour - who knew Spike Lee could make decent movies? I
didn't and I've seen a few. 3/5

dark knight 5/10

would rate it better if twoface had a decent rubber mask
instead of laughable cgi.

that's perfectly understandable... also eXistenZ is
definitely underrated. It has it's share of cheezy scenes,
but it's good enough to be entertaining throughout.

i'm pretty sure i saw it before the matrix too, so in my
mind it has dibs on a lot of those ideas which i hadn't yet
properly pondered in my teen years.

also i love that woman

my friend and I wasted many hours dreaming up video game

Ratatouille - 4.7/5

I don't know why but I think this is a film I will like more
each time I watch it... felt like it had a fair bit of depth
to it for an animated film.

almost as good as Wall-e

My Sassy Girl (Korean version, yes there is 'yet another' US
remake, sigh*) - 4.4/5

What's this, a romantic comedy that is actually really good?
The lead actress is just insanely funny, and there is clever
(yes in a romcom!) twist near the end. I've also learnt
Koreans are as violent as Japanese are polite!

* that makes it 239 US remakes of foreign films in the last
5 years.

Yeah, that sassy girl really is something else! Cheesy as
all get go, but I'd be damned if I didn't eat up all those
loopy turns. I think they had something to do with a tree
or a restaurant or a smile. (spoilers)

Her movie before that one, "Siworae", also became a remake.
The US "Lake House" brings your count up to 240.

Fast, Cheap and Out of Control - 8/10 (errol morris)
Gates of Heaven - 8/10 (ditto)

Waru - 6/10 (another mediocre miike film)

The Happening - 7/10

This film was surprisingly enjoyable, actually pretty
transcendent and superb, and I would've given it a lot more
if it didn't lose its steam during the second half, and if
it didn't feature some of the worst acting I've ever seen in
movies, ever. But, overall, it's like Invasion of the Body
Snatchers for the post-9/11 world! word! wah wah!
