In the next "version" or "format" of XLT, I think it would
be pretty cool to have a multiple followup option in posts,
so that you can respond to more than one person with the
same post. I mean, I know you can do this already and that
it's not that important of an upgrade, but if it's not too
much work(and possible), I think it would make a cool
addition to the site. :)

but the followup on here sucks anyways, there should be a
quote button like on that one site whose name I forget
because its been down so long

yeah a way to quote people would be nice, but the method of
"DIY quotes" has never really bothered me.

it's just fine as it is.
it would be betterr, if rratherr than clicking a long
strring of numberrs to quote, it simply said "quote", but
only to make it easierr forr new people.

well, my idea doesn't add clutter to the site, at least not
how I'm picturing it.. it would still look the same, except
it would say "followup" instead of numbers, and you could
click a couple different posts and it would followup all of
them. OR, as Anus suggested, there could be a quote function
as well as, or in place of, the followup option.

You should be able to click a button and a big graphic hand
will go over someones avatar and a robot voice would say
'TALK TO THE HAND++++TALK TO THE HAND+++++' until you let go
of the button.

but a serious suggestion, get rid of the points, I think it
would get rid of some of the post pumping

and a time limited edit button would be nice too

other than that I think it's pretty nice

I know you like them, because they give you a certain status

don't you think the board would benefit from such a thing?

What I DON'T like about all the extra options, is the posts
are so HUGE, there is all this extra information all around
in this big fucking ugly box, quote, aim contacts, e-mail,
larger avatar, quote button, etc. etc., and then in the
center of this waste of space you have a post like "lol"

with this board the damage is minimal

offline nacmat on 2004-01-17 18:06 [#01038598]

the board is perfect like it is now

just the future improvement of the search function will make
it 100% perfect

Now that's what I call minimal....essell, a designer/coder

STYLE..

simple (& lthe Grey/monochrome look...)

I would paragraph options - I like to have my stuff
"justified", rather than merely Left-Aligned, which looks
ragged to me.

offline pOgO from behind your belly button fluff on 2004-01-18 10:19 [#01039184]

how about a little button for each user that you could click
on that would send a complaint to the mods.

There'd be no real need to worry about people abusing the
button (that sounds quite funny =oD) because the clicker
would only be getting him/herself in trouble

I just thought of another suggestion for this board. there
should be a log on every thread with how many views it's
had, so you have a way of knowing if people are looking at
your threads and dont have an answer for you or if your
threads are just being overlooked completely.

I agree with Nacmat, the search feature needs a major
overhaul. I fought for the "and/or" feature to be added but
its not nearly enough, and it doesn't really work
correctly.

I also think a "number of views column" next to a thread
would be a good idea.

I am however, totally against signatures -- you can put
quotes in your profile, not on every single fucking post.
And no smiley's, please. A quote box is also unecessary,
the follow up feature is super easy.

I don't even think a new quote feature is necessary either..
my original idea was to keep the followup system we have
now, but to revamp it so you can followup multiple people's
posts.

offline giginger from Milky Beans (United Kingdom) on 2004-01-20 11:46 [#01041866]
Points: 26326 Status: Lurker | Show recordbag

I also don't think a quote feature is needed. Whyt he fuck
do we need more buttons on this board? I'm more than happy
just copying and pasting someone's post if I want to quote
it. Taking more time on a post makes you think about what
you say :)

Auto url linking would be nice though ;)
