well

one stupid question here

did those ultraviisitor and squarewindow mp3 come up to your
expectations?

was the old sample of 20 seconds a real ultravisitor sample
then?

very much up to my expectations.

and that 20 sec. sample isn't from squarewindow ep
apperantly.

nacmat > to me, those tracks sound nice... but i expected a
little better and more different, they sound very Big
Loada-style (which is a good release, but not his best...).

i'm still looking forward to the album to be released! =)

music maybe they should get a day job huh.

I listened to the clips. I don't think I'll be picking up
the ep sadly enough. I couldn't even be pissed to listen to
the whole tracks that I dloaded.

I have no idea why my religion (or lack thereof) is coming
into questions... to get back on the subject of this
thread:

REFLEX: Did it ever occur to your small, simple little mind
that perhaps if everybody bought an artist's
releases (providing they are good) that they wouldn't have
to get a day job?

offline tibbar from harrisburg, pa (United States) on 2004-01-15 13:03 [#01034905]
Points: 10513 Status: Lurker

guess what?!?

i downloaded the entire ep.

160kb.

guess what?

ill buy it when its up on the 26th.

guess what?

it made me more hype for the album to hear it first, as
hearing things in their entirety usually does.

guess what?

boo hoo, cuz WARP is the music makers.

offline pf from Finland on 2004-01-15 13:18 [#01034931]

reflex's comment about the dayjob is quite dumb. if i like
an artist and his/her releases i hope and try to support
him/her as much as i can so he/she dosent need to get a
dayjob.

You're totally missing the point... for every person that
will buy it, there's one or more who won't because of those
MP3s (or MP3s in general).

Bleep allowed you to hear it... you just weren't satisfied
with 30 second clips...

And proper grammar is WARP are the music makers :)

offline tibbar from harrisburg, pa (United States) on 2004-01-15 13:26 [#01034948]

you cant stop the mp3 thing. ever.

its already gotten to a certain point, and no amount of
legislation or rules or morals is gonna stop it.

yes, for every "me" theirs some guy who will download
everything and just burn it.

but that comes down to your own conscience. why should the
many suffer for the few?

everyone has to decide for themselves what the right thing
is, even if their IS a definite right and wrong thing.

in fact, i think getting all hard-ass about mp3 downloading
only makes rebelious kids who go "cool! free music!" want to
do it even more.

my 2 cents

it's a shame most people are arguing about the old mp3
debate when we could be talking about the music.

fuck me, tom is one talented guy. i remember "talk about you
and me" as one of the highlights when i went to see him live
in august last year - so glad it's being released
commercially. squarewindow sounds beautiful too, and
ultravisitor sounds very feed me weird things. can't wait to
own this shit.

Mr. Joyrex, you don't work for warp nor are you the artist
in question. Yours is just another opinion and opinions are
like assholes, everyone has one. There won't be a single
person to not purchase it because of the mp3 preview because
a patched together 96k mp3 is a poor substitute for the full
thing. If you want to extend this argument, the full catalog
is available so perhaps you should write an email to warp to
explain how concerned you are that their venture is going to
fail because it was their idea to make the tracks available
for preview in that fashion. Or better yet don't bother
because believe me they will do just fine without your
helpful intervention - as they always have.

joyrex: man you should enter a debate team or something
seriously, because right now im shaking in my little boots!
really iam, i mean no matter what your opinion is right!
like for instance if you were to debate about any subject
all youd have to say is "iam joyrex a bit fat fucking idiot
and my opinion is right so fuck you all, stupid fags". and
that would be that! presto!

and besides what you going to go fuck tom or rich up the ass
and tell them how many of their cds you bought, bravo
joyrex, bravo.

matter how red in the face you get about mp3s this and mp3s
that, a whole lot of people like me are going to keep on
giving a fuck less about what you say, or anyone else for
that matter. oh shit i lied, im going to go right now and
get rid of all my mp3s because youve taught me its so wrong.

just bought the squarewindow ep through bleep.

sounds good to me.

buying through bleep was quick an painless. i set up an
account and had the files in probably 5 minutes.

it'd be pretty nice if you could get the artwork in a nice
high-rez .tiff file as well though.

props to warp/bleep. a great step in the right direction

the less interaction i have to have with 'real' humans the
better. :)
