I just woke up, looked in this thread and missed the first
pic. To say I was confused when I saw my new look in
Jivver's pic is an understatement!

I still can't believe we were right at the front for
plaid and afx, I thought we were fucked for sure when I
looked at the gig from the balcony...

UK crowds are always non-movers. Its kinda lame. Everyone
just stands there watching, no-one moves, cept the pill
heads, but they move whether theres music playing or not.
haha.

crowd makes it kind of impossible to move i think...i often
walked all over people - could be pretty dangerous when i
get wild :)

London crowds are allways rubbish, most capital cities are,
they're too affraid to be seen to be enjoying something that
isn't 'cool'. Most of the UK can enjoy good music.

american crowds are ace though, they all dance around like
fools. Although you cant beat a good old fashioned english
mosh pit. Ah those were the days, deftones around the fur
tour... sigh...

offline JivverDicker from my house on 2003-11-01 17:33 [#00929209]

moshing/slam dancing is fun when someone's playing, chin
stroking is soo boring for the act and the audience. It's
supposed to be fun surely..

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2003-11-01 17:36 [#00929213]

it's weird how aphex can be so calm playing all that wicked
stuff...

true, but every so often he loses his cool and poundes his
fists in the air and grins like a lunatic!

yeah, but most of the time he's totally still, and imagine
how many gigs does he play...i know i would lose my mind if
i had to stand still while music like that is playing
there are lots of dj's jumping like maniacs when they're
playing - i'd love to see aphex let it go once and jump all
over :)

Well all i will say is that the venue was fucking rammed
mate, there was hardly enough room to walk yet alone dance
properly.

: )

He he, I was dancing earlier on before I met up with you...
I think it was when I was just with skink and chris b. I was
dancing on the balcony as well before security made me sit
down (I don't know whether they thought I was going to fall
over a 5 ft barrier or what!)

it was quite good but not a patch on the lighthouse party,
there really were too many people there, no room to move
especially with all the fat guys on pills falling around.
vibert and aphex were very good tho most people were dead by
the time aphex got on cos vibert gave us the full rinse :)

jamie lidell changed my opinion of him by really pushing it,
such a strong voice although the backing seemed a little
stale

pissed that jimmy edgar pulled out but i am sure he will be
back.

plaid was a bit boring for the first few tracks until the
made it a bit more electro/breaky and the visuals warmed up
(iraq and sniper stuff was really cool)

a really good night but too crowded.

b.t.w. i was the guy dancing reall weirdly in a black and
yellow 70's t-shirt and an orange hoody tied round my waist.
bo

I saw the merchandise and thought that it was a bit of a
crap stall. Just in that little window. The old Box office
window or something. I was hoping there's be something more
than that really. Nevermind.

The Grange Hill theme remix rocked!

sure but I don't know who else.

Yes, I think part of the weakness was the venue/capacity.
I'd far rather see that sort of setup in a 500-1000 capacity
place.
