i'm sure miramax are delighted by the extra sales but i
refuse to be so cynical as to believe the film was split to
make more money. i think it's an artistic decision and it'll
make more sense to us after vol. 2. sequels and such are the
real cash-ins..

wow just saw it today. its just way too fucking cool. the
whole anime thing in the middle was such a novel idea (like
the old time tv show segments in natural born killers, a
pseudo-terentino film)

There is just no way that the regular movie goer who might
actually not like QT movies or Kungfu movies but might have
found the trailor interesting wouldn't be able to tolerate
3+ hours of this movie.

I would have loved it but realistically this wasn't geared
towards hardcore movie fans

apparently the decision to split was made before the movie
wrapped shooting, but it was made by harvey weinstein, the
miramax executive. he convinced tarantino to do it like
this, which is sort of how alot of the old 1950's musketeer
movies and martial arts films were done.
i definitely could have handled another two hours, but i
don't really mind it like this. gives me something to look
forward to after return of the king.

i can't agree with you there.

i like NOT knowing too much about ANY film i go see.

i like to be surprised about plot lines, music....etc.....

i'm almost always disappointed after seeing a movie that was
OVER hyped like this one. i wish i'd not read a single
article about it, etc.......for me that what made Pulp
Fiction such a MINDBLOWING film for me.....i didn't know
anything about it!

i really enjoyed this movie and look forward to Vol. 2, but
the HYPE = MOVIE IMO.

I saw Kill Bill on Friday. Now it was good and not so good.
The first half worked exceptionally well the adreneline was
pumping, the action was awesome and the tone was right. Uma
Thurman was very cool. However the second half kinda of lost
it a bit really it just got a bit OTT and silly in parts.
For me bits needed tidying up and the scripting in parts
needed refining. It was good up to a point and then lost its
way. I'd have to watch it again but on first impressions its
no way Tarantino's best movie; that goes to Jackie Brown for
me. In conclusion it felt like an unfinished peace. Too many
different styles, moods and ideas attempted to be crammed in
to it and so it lost its way a bit.

"In conclusion it felt like an unfinished peace."

in fact, it is an un-finished piece. and more so
than you know...
there are rumors up at Upcomingmovies.com that an animated
prequal, as well as a sequal concerning some of the kids in
the film, may someday come to the screen.

aww shit yeah.

were artistic. the concern is just that other movies might
try to do this just to make some extra cash. cizash. bling

DAMMIT!

i was in SanFrancisco last week and i heard they had Kill
Bill playing on IMAX so i was all, "Yo adam dawg! we gots to
gets us some ticket action on that mutha fucka!" and he was
all "damn shizzy dawg!" So we gets on the phone and the guy
at the theater was all, "err. sorry sir. kill bill was taken
down from our screen 2 days ago." so i was like "aww shit,
dawg!" and lo, i was thusly bummed.

anyone wondering where Q tarantino cameos in the movie? a
rumor floating about tells that he is playing the character
Pai Mei to appear in the second film.. This is not accurate
though. Pai Mei will be played by Gordon Lieu and QT will
be playing his english voice.
should be some good dubbing humor i suspect.

i could not agree more.

for instance, i absolutely refuse to watch or even
listen to a trailer for return of the king. and i don't want
to know anything about it, apart from having read the book.

i used to be really big into trailers and shit, but then i
started enjoying movies less because so much of the good
stuff i'd seen a hundred times in the trailer already.

What did you love about this film?

Umra Thurman's outfit inspired by Bruce Lees "Game of Death"
and her samaruri katna was beautiful.

I have a very blunt curved Middle Eastern scimitar so hence
the interest.

The directing of the fight scenes was breathtaking and a lot
tighter and more fluid than the Matrix...

what was your favorite scene?

When Umra banged Buck's head against the door frame and
said...

what was your favorite line of dialogue?

You are Buck who likes to fuck...

THE CRAZY 88 WENT OUT LIKE SOME BITCHES!!!

i loved the anime sequence and when shes beatting the guy
in the beggining and hes like " please stop hitting me"
BAM!!! " your name is buck , you like to fuck "

i couldnt find one thing i didnt like about this movie it
even gott better and better " does she know her baby is
still alive " i was like HOLYSHIT!!!!

it was badass at the end of it nobody left the theatre we
all sorta hung out talking about it for about half an hour ,
n all i was thinking was ' hmmm this kinda makes me wanna go
for some sushi''

My fav scene was:

the only scene that really stood out at me; was the opening
suburbia fight scene between black mamba, and coperhead. (i
want some Kaboom cereal.)

other than that; it was a shit plot. who is uma thurman
going to kill next in the one-on-one/one-by-one subordinate
then gang bang limb lobbing bloodfest, then
one-one-one/one-by-one... (repeat) at the club? Lets give a
quick flash back intro; and the audience is set!

my fav quote was:

"Plot? Shit man, when i pitched it to my drunk ass shit
producer; it sounded good at the time..." Q. Tarantino.

I was going to go see the Japanese un-edited ver, but i'm
sure i know where all the scenes are (gore? notice the quick
arkward cut to the next frames? ie. lip bitting /CUT/ on the
floor).

Glad i DLED it!

1)it`s a A class movie that trys to be like a B class
movie,old hong-kong stuff.
2)i love the scene where she(whats her name anyway?) kills
more than 100 yakuza members
3)"i`m buck and i`m here to fuck!"

i don't think the plot is shit. it is a revenge movie. and
for a revenge movie virtually the only requirement is to set
up motivation for revenge. I think this is done very
effectively in Kill Bill, nobody can disagree that The Bride
got a Raw Deal; being murdered (almost) on her wedding day,
left for dead, robbed of her child, and not only raped, but
prostituted over at least a few years if not the entire
duration of her coma.

but i agree, after that is set up, revenge movies kinda
unravel themselves. But i also think it is far to early to
make judgements about the plot considering, we have only
seen half of the movie.

it's too bad you only saw a downloaded copy. for a movie
that is driven more by visual style than by plot, i don't
think a 17-23 inch computer monitor can really do it
justice.

I'm discombobulated by the overwhelming amount of people who
are cutting tarantino slack on this issue.

just because it's intended to be crap people eat it by the
shovel full.

Just like those crap ass, lower than degenerate, punk names.
If i were to release a punk band and call it "the crappiest
piece of shit you'll ever listen to" i'll be all over the
charts!

Crap is crap. and the audience should be pissed to think
that tarantino thinks that his audiences will take it.

Jus tlike Jay and silent bob...am i suposed to let it slide
because it makes fun of the people who make fun of it?

no.

i went to see it last weekend with my girl and we both loved
it :D
part2 is definately on the list,

maybe i expected some more 'useless' dialogues a-la
tarantino, like for instance pulp fictions foot massage or
quarter pounder/mayonaise stuff or the 'i don't wanna be mr
pink' stuff from resevoir dogs etc.
but all in all i really enjoyed it, also great music indeed
(as always)

nobody is cutting tarantino slack on this issue. it meets
or exceeds the requirements for a great revenge movie. It's
plot very effectively sets up motive for revenge as well as
any great revenge film (see Mad Max, The Crow) it
has excellent visual style. The sound effects are awsome.
It has a great soundtrack. It has beautiful cinematography.
it has 100's of gallons of blood spraying out of severed
necks and limbs.

i honestly don't know what more i could ask for from a
revenge film.

I was watching Battle Royale a couple days ago. It is
interesting that not only did Tarantino use an actress from
this movie (to play Go-Go) He even gave her the same hair
style and basically the same costume.

but, the character most similar to Go-Go in Battle Royale is
actually played by a different actress.
