i always prefer to buy/order my records in a real music
store, instead of doing this online. I know their are a lot
of music stores, and i think it’s a nice idea to post all
your favourites.

My personal favourites:

Rare-Records
Bergstraat 36 B
Eindhoven
Netherlands

Bullit music freaks
kleine berg 53
Eindhoven
Netherlands

a lot of idm/electronic music can be found here...
please post yours so i can prepare trips...heheh

I found a nice one in Den Haag the other day... I think that
was Plato where qrter's brother apparently works... they had
some nice stuff...

and a Velvet Records in Delft had some nice cds too... I was
in there yesterday just after I got lost walking around! :)

Rub-a-Dub records in Glasgow.
Probably the best place in the whole of Scotland for
electronic music.
They've even got a big-up on the Underground Resistance
records website!
I guess coming all the way to glasgow might be a bit too
much, though, huh?

John's Newfoundland... hey, I found my first few Aphex Twin
cds and stuff in there, so it has a special place in my
heart! :)

surrounded, do they have a website catalogue too? where is
the utrechtsestraat....

The beauty of Rare Records is that they have their complete
stock online, so you can view directly what they have and
what don't...

well...sloth records is okay, but they really aren't.
too small, a bit cramped, and the selection is...well. not
that great sometimes.

No, there's only www.getrecords.nl, but it only shows their
address. I love the rare-records website alot :-) Because of
it i don't have to go to eindhoven all the time :-p

Uhm... the last time i went there my brother gave me
directions to the utrechtsestraat, i don't remember it
exactly to be honest. Wasn't hard to find though.

Oranje Nassaustraat 29

They mostly have alternative music and older albums, and if
they don't have what you're looking for you can order it
with them.

Let me cover the East N. America span:

Montreal:
CD Esoterik - good selection of vinyl and cds
Cheap Thrills - mostly for used.

Florida:
Park Ave CDs (Winter Park) - nested in one of the most
posh shopping districts in the Orlando area, we find a cave
of a place decorated in rebar. Thousands of records and
even more cd's and a selection to die for. One of the
best. Too bad it's 2 hours away and there's nothing
remotely as good near me.

amoeba records all around california. its just like the
costco of cds, they have 1000s and 1000s or rare, new, and
used cd (great electronic sections too) only place i can go,
spend 20 bucks and come out with 5 cds.

later there was his entire back catalogue and they have
stocked him ever since... they really take the time to get
to know everything they can about every kind of music it's

i wish i could go to this one...

most of the records i buy on amazon, there aren't a lot of
things around offline record stores where i live. well, the
fnac is pretty good in strasbourg, though.

usually when i know what i want to get and when i know it's
not absolutely well-known, i don't bother searching in
record stores, i order at amazon. i go to record stores when
i have free time and money to spend on a CD (but not being
sure which one) - there are always unknown CDs with
attractive covers, i'll just look and if i can listen to
sound samples in the shop, or else remember the references
to check AMG other reviews etc. about it later... : )
