Its is HIGHLY probable that my computer has a virus right
now. I'm surprised that I'm even able to write this. My comp
has been randomly turning itself off (sometimes before I can
even log into windows), so I cant say that I'll be back any
time soon. So until then, goodbye.

the only dependable thing about the future is
uncertainty

Well its been almost 24 hours of fustration and hell but I
might have fixed the problem. This is the longest I've had
my computer up so far without it rebooting.

I think this was the problem:

sp.dll

apparently this is was a virus according to Mcaffee, but I
couldn't find any info about it other than that its called:

JS/IEStart.gen.d

Anyways I'm clueless, but I deleted the sp.dll file. So if
you dont see me for awhile its probably because the file
reincarnated or something.

Also I'd also encourage everyone to do a search for the
'sp.dll' file in their windows directory to see if you have
it.

The resetting was getting really bad earlier, to the point
where I wouldn't even reach the windows logon screen. It
varied though, obviously, because sometimes it allowed me
enough time to post this thread, and run a bit of virus
diagnostics before it shut itself off again (there was no
warning, just like hitting the reset button)

Thanks to everyone for your help and kind words.
