One of the best bands ever? Yes. Yes they are. A Can of
Bees and Underwater Moonlight are two of the goofiest yet
brilliant albums ever made by anyone. Lyrics by Robyn
Hitchcock... 'nuff said. Show your Soft Boys love here, if
any of you electro geeks have any. IIIIIII WANNA DESTROY
YOU, IIIIIIIIII WANNA DESTROY YOU!!!!1

Nigel, you said you went to a Hitchcock show once... do you
dig the Soft Boys?

Uber-clever guitar pop band... maybe you'd like them? You're
a rock'a rolla, no?

Not only did they rock then, but they rock now... breaking
all the rules, they got back together last year and put out
a brilliant album after a couple decades removed from their
last classic. Not too shabby. Reunions are always a risky
prospect at best.

Can't remember ever listening to the Soft Boys... what time
are we talking about here? 70s? 80s?

Their prime was only a couple of albums, 79-80ish, but they
put out a new one last year that's actually very worth
hearing.

I prefer Robyn Hitchcock's non-softboys ventures over the
soft boys really.. But that's only because there's much more
of it.

Robyn Hitchcock is God.. yeah.. I bought my first RH tape
when I was 9 heheh.. the music store clerk was like, "wtf"

I get mad-made fun of by my friends for liking robyn
hitchcock.. :\

Queen Elvis (the album) changed my life...

Fun Fact:

In the 10 threads on this board that mention Robyn
Hitchcock, I'm the one bringing him up in 8 out of those 10
threads.

..I guess what I'm trying to say is.. you guys are lame.

This is the second or third time I've brought him up... so
I'm not THAT lame, am I? Please say no, I need to feel
loved.

I wanna be lame... as long as I can be unoriginal too!

Checking out the music, what Hitchcock songs do you
recommend?

I Saw Nick Drake

Oceanside

Be prepared to not like it though..

Give it to the Soft Boys!

Wading Through A Ventilator on the Can of Bees re-issue is
one of the best live performances I've ever heard on record.
