What was the first music ever released by autechre? The
earliest I've heard is incunabula, but aren't there a few
ep's or something priorly released?

please tell me.

They released an EP, Cavity Job, on Hardcore Records
in 1991. The music is kind of awful.

I don't think so, but they had one called The Egg on
the Artificial Intelligence compilation.

Not exactly.

Its related - sounds like an earlier/different version of
eggshell, but not its the same song.

Basically the same melody, but the drums are quite
different.

depends in what way you ask the question:

first music RELEASED by Autechre
or
first music released by Sean & Rob
or
first MUSIC by Autechre
or
first music by Sean & Rob

... etc... you get the picture? ;-)

'What was the first music ever released by autechre?' pretty
clear to me :)

depends on what you wanna know. people were replying with
'cavity job' which are then incorrect.

Then what was their first release?
I thought it was cavity job...
(I don't count compilation CD's as a release actually).

If they were using MYSLB Productions as the artist name for
Cavity Job, then what does the "AUTECHRE" on the sleeve
refer to?

I have changed my mind. I took a closer look at this release
last night and 'all tracks are made by Autechre'.

*modifying xltronic discog*
