just curious phob,

how many submissions have you had so far?

is this going to be a fierce competition or are there
already some obvious favorites?

or maybe it's not fair to say anything yet?

i'd imagine they wait until they have them all to start
listening
and if not, theres still a lot of time, so i doubt many
people have submitted theirs yet

aaaaaaah!

I can't believe autechre is having a remix contest! This is
awesome! Autechre, if you are reading this thread, I can't
even put into words how your music has resonated with my
fucked up soul. This is the best thing to happen to this
site. We are pathetic, heh heh. (I speak for myself) *looks
around

One of the myths is he forgot once he had a remix to do and
when they asked him with the deadline in sight, he just gave
them one of his leftover tracks. They loved his
interpretation of the track. :)

I find your odd polytheism that includes us in the ranks of
autechre.. SACRILEGIOUS!! They're not like you or I!! They
are cyborg gods!! Autechre, you are my personal backstreet
boys!! Tibbar didn't mean that. We will make him fan you
while we feed you grapes!!

At last, a chance to do autechre on the banjo and spoons.
The way it's meant to be.

Just one dull technical note, phobiazero -what's the
preferred format for entries? MP3? what bitrate?

wondering if theoretically it COULD be done. i guess so....

If anyone needs some samples for the remix I’ve just
put some up on the below site of my latest circuit bent toy.
I think some of them will work well for this remix. I will
not be using the ones I put up, so enjoy

Glasgow they would say "Pure minted man, heavy beatz man,
thumpin man, pass the pills ya mad bit o fluff!". In London
they would say "cool beatz, yeah wicked sparrows wheel

I just joined xlt, you guessed it, because of the remix.
You tossers that are whining about newbies being alowed to
enter really need to get over yourselves. I entered because
I really love Autechre's music and would like nothing more
than to have them listen to something I made.
Just because you happened to hear about this site before I
did doesn't make you more worthy of having Rob and Sean
listen to your stuff.
The Legofoot is just icing on the cake.

Hmm. I fail to see the problem with people joining just for
this remix competition. I would do it in an instant :D
And there's nowt wrong with expanding the community,
intruducing new peeps with more opinions. It'll add
diversity, which is always a good thing. And if the regulars
just slag off the newcomers then honestly who can expect
them to stick around afterwards? Let's be nice to people eh?
:)

offline Kill Switch from Belgium on 2003-04-07 17:51 [#00637476]

Personally I don't have problem with new members joining
because of the high profile ae remix competition. But I
wonder how many of the ones recently registered will stay on
the board once this one is over.
And I think all those selfclaimed superrmx'ers are the most
insecure. :p

The reason someone wouldn't want new members to participate
is selfish (less competition would increase ones chances of
winning

do you think autechre shoujld do a 25 remixes for
cash...they need the cash more than afx (duet vs solo)

offline Spookyluke from United States on 2003-04-08 05:22 [#00638374]
Points: 1955 Status: Lurker

Not really--I don't think they could get 26 mixes on two
CDs, and I don't think their remixes represent their sound
very well.

can anybody tell me where to download "the tracks which have
to be remixed" or "the remix filez"???

offline -spent from Wellington (New Zealand) on 2003-04-08 06:34 [#00638544]
Points: 21 Status: Regular

There isn't any files, you choose any song you want and
sample it yourself. It would be impossible for xltronic to
break every Autechre track into bite sized pieces for you,
and what fun would 200 slight variations on say gantz graf
be?

All remix contests should be run like this one.

Yes, new users are most welcome - no doubts about it! BUT,
chosing aliases like "IllWinAeContest" and "IllRemixAe are
just stupid and annoying.

i agree that it's stupid and annoying, but at least you'll
most likely never see them post here again after the

Phobiazero and Crew--will there be a location to hear the
autechre remixes, all of them or just the top 15 ?

*with little astricks by the one that autechre picked and

Just the top 15 at first, then all songs will be available
after the contest is finished

did my second remix today. not as good as my first but took
me 5 hours of today. I think I'll have to work some more on
it.

this is great fun! gives me a good reason not to be studying

for all you people: I listen Autechre for long long time and
also i'm sometimes visiting xltronic ( and autechre.nu , and
messageboards on warprecords.com) but i cant do that very
often because prices for internet in my country are very
high: so i understand others who come here only for contest:
i will make my try in this contest and i will be only
sometimes here to read others messages. Also , it is not
pathetic to came here only for contest: at least for many
people it is the only chance to " do something" with their
talents. You should not judge others for visiting xltronic
- real Autechre fan does not need messageboards like this
one:remember it ! And , yoking like "i'll win" isn't
pathetic:it's just yoking . to love Autechreand to be very
deep inside this kind of music doesn't mean " to be here ,
to leave messages here , to dispute here or read all
messages" : sometimes someone just want to make his time on
contest and nothong more: just like me... i really love
autechre but i've been very disapointed by reading others
messages: i just feel like some newbie who doesn't like this
kind of music and dont know what's really going on...SHAME
ON YOU , PEOPLE !!!!

And yet, if they stick around, it'll be very funny in a
couple of years. We'll all have nostolgic moments about
their names.
