Any thoughts on what price this Analogue Bubblebath 5 will be sold
in 5 days?

Right now it's $465

I say about $700

Spikee dude, it's in your hands man!

If I had my way it'd be $10 and I'd be the winner but seeing
as I can't have my way it'll be about $800 - $1200 and to
some snotty nosed kid who just bought it because it was
expensive.

I'm done. Sorry.

I really wanted to get this as i'd have no problem with
letting someone loan it and do a perfect rip. My maximum has
been put on it and I personally can't go further. If it
wasn't just after the holidays I would have gone higher.

Boo hoo. Maybe we can get in contact with the seller and ask
them to get the final buyer to MP3 it?

If I got it I give yall some 320kbs lame mp3's or something.
Or even the ISO of the disc.

no recorded piece of music is worth $465... let alone more!
I hope that whoever gets it will be happy with it... but i
can just imagine him with an "oh my god? What did i just
do?"-feeling when he's won the auction :-p

That how I would unless I was rich. But I'm not. I'd laugh
it was released the day after he won.

There's always the posibility that someone just had high
quality MP3s and used a vestax vinyl recorder to "press" it
to vinyl... when they become more commonplace I feel you'll
see a lot more "one off" pirate copies rather than bottleg
runs of 2000...

A picture of the cat number is on the ebay page now. This is
real.

I think the guy selling it works for the Sonar club in
america.

I wonder what the record for an RDJ auction is? This might
top it.

In other Ebay news, I'm still high bidder at $0.25 for my
Stereolab CD!!! Yay! Only two days left.

Ebay has an escrow service for that sort of thing, so the
buyer can verify the merchandise on receipt.

yes, you may ask.

I don't *need* the money, but it would certainly be useful.
I was recently laid off, but was considering selling it even
before that. It's just time I suppose...

It could be the seller bidding for it under another
name to drive the price up. If I was buying something that
expensive I'd have to drive out and pick it up. Bit of a
problem it's in the USA...

offline Spikee Dragon from Newcastle (United Kingdom) on 2003-01-10 02:15 [#00508734]

So far the guy selling this has been accused of selling a
random white label with the cat from AB5 wrote on, pressing
a copy of the mp3s onto vinyl and now he is bumping the
price? I don't think he deserves this accusation and since
he comes here I bet he is hurt by these pokes.

I can't view the item due to maintenance on ebay. If someone
is fucking it up I'll be pissed off.

In each of those cases I said it *could* be a fake. I was
just making people aware of the possibilites. Even the cat
no. on the run out grooves could be scratched in by
him...

I doubt it hurts his feelings- it's such a rare release and
ebay is so full of bogus stuff that people are bound to be
skeptical.

offline Spikee Dragon from Newcastle (United Kingdom) on 2003-01-10 02:32 [#00508757]

Aye. Ebay would fuck the guy over if he ripped someone off
this much tho, so it's not at all likely this is a fake.

How about a Analogue Bubblebath 5.1 ?
similar to the analogue bubblebath 3.1 LP.
