Melodies From Mars

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-22 08:41 [#00000201]

It just hit me that Track #11 from 'Melodies From
Mars
' sounds VERY familiar...Anyone?

catchy melody, that's for sure... Phobiazero, are you saying
you've heard it somewhere else? i can't recall where else i
might have heard it at the moment, if anywhere.

maybe it was in an actual videogame :)?

I know I'm replying to an old topic but Phob has a good
point. I hear alot of songs that sound fimiliar and I don't
know where the hades I've heard it before. Track 7 also has
a tune I swear I've heard before, and I'm sure it was on a
very old videogame. The first tune on Start as you mean to
go on sounds familiar (I LOVE THAT SONG!!!! Am I the only
one?). Philosophy by Numbers and Crash and carry by Orbital
sound familiar. Rae by Autechre sounds similar to something
I forgot... Radiohead's Motion Picture Soundtrack sounds
like something I heard at church. The beginning of Karma
Police sound familiar. And Treefingers sounds familiar as
well. Strange, isn't it?

dancing diapers?!

It's my least fave AFX release (even if it was never
released)....

Sounds too much like videogame music (and yes, I know it's
supposed to be demos for videogames) but I've heard a lot
better stuff (that NANOLOOP release was pretty cool and
showed that even a GameBoy could be sonically (no pun
intended) sophisticated....

i actually very much disliked that nanoloops cd. ewwww. i
thought that the only decent tracks were the first one, and
the ones at the very end. i love experimental, but this was
experimental shit IMO.
