you'll like the rest of his stuff.

Should I start with Five Leaves Left? Buying the Pink Moon
album just seems... gauche, somehow. Like I'm going to
listen to it in my Cabriolet.

I'm liking more non-electronic music these days--Pavement,
Pixies, Miles Davis, John Lee Hooker, Joni Mitchell, some
black metal.... just got Ungentle Exhumation by Cryptopsy,
finally released on CD at long last!!!

I'm checking him out now for the first time via Five
Leaves Left
, sounds good. A little more folky than I'm
used to but I can dig it.

Nick Drake songs are so unique. It is a shame he killed
himself. His music is so beautiful. Every music collection
should contain at least one Nick Drake CD.

It was OK, just the usual stuff -- interviews with Joe Boyd,
Gabrielle Drake etc. I don't think there was anything new
in there, other than Tow The Line, which is a pretty
unremarkable track really (at least on first listen).

i love Nick Drake!!

how can you be so sure Anus_Presley?
i mean we know "what" killed him, but wether or not he
wanted it that way we will never know...and we can speculate
for ever...i must admit i go for the suicide version
though...

his Biography is very nice to read, though a bit sad...

HAHAHA your avatar tricked me there Peter File!

how did he die?

my dad's always been a nick drake fan, and just lately
there's been loads (i exaggerate!) of media coverage. Is it
just because of that 'new' nick drake release?

touch me, for i bask in nick drake's reflected glory.

1. he went to the same college I did (Fitzwilliam, Camb),
and lived in the same pokey, 1970s, chicken coop room i did
in my first year. he hated it at fitzwilliam, it depressed
the hell out of him... so of course he wrote loads of great
stuff there.

2. a mate of mine (from above college) is his cousin.

so there you go.

I have naked pictures of Gabrielle Drake, his sister.

Nick is awesome. Didn't a documentary about his life just
come out? He's a bit of an enigma to me, I'd like to see
this.

get the box set because you won't regret it.

i've read some facts and stories about drake..but you get
some clues from the music itself..i like the story behind
'pink moon' - he just brought the recording to the label and
just left it at the doorman's desk..i was hoping to read
some interviews, but apperantly he only gave one short
interview, and even that one doesn't say much..

i think it depends on which album you've heard first which
will be your favourite, as you may associate those songs
from when you first heard his music. just like most artists
really. i adore five leaves left.

yeah that may be the case

but the more i listen to five leaves left the more i think
it may become my favorite. it's a nice mixture of upbeat
things and the slight depressing/negative vibe on pink moon
