anyway, it was a really nice match to watch-they were
actually playing not just kicking ball...

and van nistelroy is surely the best striker in the world at
the moment-his goal was really nice

Great match yesterday, i'm proud of my juventus, they played
very well.
Unfortunately Trezeguet, Ferrara and Tacchinardi played with
flu anyway great match. We deserved to draw the match, imo.
Next Tuesday we'll wait for these Red Devils in Turin...
with all Juve without influenza and virus various, i hope.

Go Juve go!

this is the italian year... I am sure that milan, juve and
inter will be in the 1/4 finals... so 3 out of 8... possibly
the champion will be italian.

for barça:
I wish they could win but I doubt it... still I see they are
doing a great job so far in this champions league

with my heart: juve and barça

I'm serious... Barça is the strongest team who I saw in the

I don't see what barça do in spanish league, i see what
barç did in champion's league and it was impressive.
Saviola is really strong!

some good players there

hmm, please no offense, but i thought that barcelona game
against inter wasnt that good-inter sucked big time
about barcelona-the first goal was lucky
the other two were both because of saviola-and he did it on
his own
others were just trying to hit long balls towards him but
there wasnt a single action in their game
i wouldnt mind if barca wins the champions cup, but if
they're counting to do that with a game like against inter
im not sure they can make it-well perhaps if they get lucky
i would love to see barca vs. real final match (i would
cheer for madrid in this one hehe, but it would be cool if
barca would win, since they're really having some problems
in spanish league)

last 15 minutes of 1st half and maybe first 10 mins of 2nd
half Inter had the control of the ball and they really
pushed it up a lot... but, the rest of the match and above
all in the 2nd half barcelona played much better imo.

ok, barça didnt play all time attacking and ball control,
they waited inter and after nice preasure they did great
strikes back.

first goal lucky???
first goal was amazing
and third too

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2003-02-20 11:27 [#00563308]

barca were better the whole game imo-they totally deserved
to win that game

i was trying to say that they would have to play better if
they want to beat teams like machester, juventus, milan and
madrid

perhaps i confused those goals a bit there
the one by saviola was excellent
the one they scored from the corner kick was lucky
and the one by kluivert was excellent again-but all credit
for this one goes to saviola

im sure they're going to improve their game now that luis
enrique is returning...
they need someone to create tha game, xavi is pretty good at
that but im sure enrique will do even better work

Early breakthrough
The longer the game went on, the more Barça dominated -
although it was effectively over as a contest once Alvaro
Recoba had been sent off for a challenge on Carles Puyol
with ten minutes still to play. It took just eight minutes
for the home side to score. Saviola latched on to a Xavi
Hernández pass and took the ball neatly wide of Fabio
Cannavaro before letting fly with a left-foot shot which
beat Francesco Toldo at his right-hand post.

Cocu cool
Christian Vieri had a great chance to level the scores in
the 28th minute when he was played clean through but failed
to control a high ball dropping over his shoulder before
Carlos Puyol scuttled back to clear. Barcelona immediately
brought the ball forward with Saviola, who forced a corner.
The set-piece fell to Kluivert, who watched his stinging
effort parried by Toldo straight to the feet of Cocu, who
made no mistake.

Reiziger rescue
Five minutes before half-time, Michael Reiziger came to
Barcelona's rescue as Cannavaro's flick was cleared off the
line and moments later Barça keeper Roberto Bonano tipped
Luigi Di Biagio's rising drive over the crossbar.

Woodwork struck
Barcelona dominated the second half, however, and Cocu went
close to grabbing his second goal of the night when he was
left completely unmarked but his 56th-minute downward header
from Xavi Hernández's cross struck the post and bounced out
with Inter's defence flat-footed.

Rueful Recoba
Recoba had a chance to pull a goal back for the Italians on
the hour but, under pressure from Frank de Boer, he lashed
the effort wide and it was to be the visitors' last
meaningful attack. Seven minutes later a wonderful jinking
run from Saviola tore them apart in their own penalty area
and when the Argentinian squared the ball, Kluivert slid in
to crash Barcelona's third goal past Toldo with the aid of
the left-hand post.

Straight red
The game's tempo was raised again when Recoba appeared to
stamp on Puyol as the two challenged for a loose ball. The

Straight red
The game's tempo was raised again when Recoba appeared to
stamp on Puyol as the two challenged for a loose ball. The
Barcelona players were incensed at the Uruguayan's challenge
and referee Anders Frisk brandished the red card to a
sheepish-looking Recoba.

Hero's return
To complete a perfect night for the Barcelona fans, Luis
Enrique made a late entrance as a substitute having spent
four months out with an achilles problem - but by that stage
the hard work had already been done.

inter is my favourite team
(second favourite is madrid)
but the way they played last couple of games was really
terrible-they didnt have a single chance to score, vieri is
totally out of his form, perhaps if crespo would be there it
would change something, but i doubt that since the whole
team didnt do anything, recoba was trying to do something
but no real success there, canavarro was disapointing,
dalmat wasnt even noticed, ...
they just play really bad lately, but i hope they'll improve
something before its too late

yeah, uefa made it sound really dramatic, but i really didnt
enjoy that game, it wasnt a football i like to watch...

i loved the manchester-juventus game though, it was just
full of nice actions and nice tactic by juve (with players
that were able to play)

but on the end-goals are what its all about and not the
artistic value of the team :)
