I had lots of hopes on valencia... but they didnt win
against the weekest of the group at home... so now they will
have it hard

it could have been a 4-1 for valencia but their goalkeeper
and the bad luck avoided it

This year italian teams seem strong. Barça is impressive,
he won all the matches... that's incredible. Probably Barça
has the record of victories in the champion's league story.

For info and stats about this amazing european championship
i suggest to check on www.uefa.com

arsenal: I think henry is superb (first goal is amazing even
though it seems easy)

inter: O My God (almeida´s goal, recoba´s goal, crespo´s
9th goal)

barça: first half, the barça I see every sunday in spain.
second half, the barça I like in champions.
anyway I find it is a step behind inter, madrid, milan,
juve, arsenal...

valencia: probably missed aimar too much

milan: maybe the strongest for this year... they look very
strong in defense and they are killers in attack, besides
they play (imo) the happiest football of italy now

manchester: they are getting better as the years advances,
anyway they dont look as much as years before

dortmund: they know very well what they are doing... if
madrid or milan fails they will pass

juve: they are also very strong, except fir the first 20
mins great match at all levels... one of my favs for this
year too, (maybe not as much as milan, but up there)

deportivo: they have it really hard, they left munich on the
way, but noe manchester and juve seems too much... who
knows... if they play as in the first 20 min they of course
can

madrid: the players and the 3 champions in last 5 years make
them favorites, but I havent seen anything yet over the
grass

hey nac, i think you're forgetting man utd there
i think they have a good chance of becoming champions this
season
that is if real wont be able to work properly with all the
big 4 -ronaldo, raul, figo and zidane

What do you think about first gol of Birindelli in
Depo-Juve? I think it was amazing one of the best of this
champion's league edition.

just almost impossible... incredible goal for sure

-Italian Teams - Point of the situation -

Milan: A really strong team, but with some problem... they
are able to play really very well but they suffer against
fast teams. Rivaldo and Shevchenko must find their best
condition, yet.

Inter: A great team with some problem in the changing room.
A lot of doubts about Cuper (the coach) decision. Vieri
isn't in his best moment. Very often they play bad but they
win and this is good too.

Juve: They suffer against the "little" teams in Italy but
usually they never fail the important matches. The most
important weapon of juve is the speed and fast play eith
sudden counter-attack.

Italian results between these 3 teams in this Italian
season:

Inter - Juve = 1 - 1 (Juve won untill 1 minutes to the end)

Juve - Milan = 2 - 1

Milan - Inter = 1 - 0

Nacmat which is the situation between Real Madrid,
Barcellona, Valencia e Deportivo there in Spain?

tolstoyed, I dodnt forget, read my post again:

""manchester: they are getting better as the year advances,

anyway they dont look as much as years before ""

why? because even though they have great stars they dont
seem to fit perfectly, not as well as the past three or four
years.

ps. barthez is really bad

hehe, it was a reply to your previous post
glad to see you're not forgetting them

i think van Niestelroy is the best player at the moment-he
can easily decide each match
i wouldnt like to see them win the cup tho

my fas are inter and real :)

as you can see, barça is doing really bad this season,
thats why I dont have any confidence in my team.
real madrid isnt still fit
depor is doing fine but not as good as last year
valencia, the champion, is doing really good.

none of them is leading the league, but except barcelona
they are all up there.

depor-madrid 0-0
depor-barça 2-0

Really strange... i can't belive that real madrid and barça
has only 18 and 16 points... now i understand why you're so
perplexed about barça in champion's league.

I think the real madrid supporters are really disappointed
about their fav team, 'cos it's full of stars but they have
really few points compared with less rich team as real
sociedad and mallorca.

I can't believe that mallorca made 22 points... this little
beautiful bealearic island.

its a certain paradox with real and man utd
it seems they just cant fit all the big players together

but still they're both my favourites to win cup this season
almost any player of these two teams can decide a match, so
i guess they'l show their strength at the right time

deportivo on the other hand seems a very homogeneous team,
so they're my hidden favourites

woofer: ""I can't believe that mallorca made 22 points...

well, mallorca got to the final of the european cup winners
cup, but they lost against lazio ( i think it was the second
last year of that tournament)

and in that year they made som 3rd or 4th position in the
league... they indeed have played 2 champions league
editions but without luck

Well, here my pont of view: I think Capello is one of the
best coach, but he isn't not really nice and pleasant.
Roma in this period is enough unlucky and player are too
much nervous and some time they become aggresives.

I don't know well the Guardiola situation, but i listened
that maybe he's too much slow.

Barcelona v Newcastle
newcastle has notorious problems as they cannot play with
belamy nor shearer, but barça seems to be in the centre of
a big crisis, everybody in barcelona wants van gaal out and
so gaspart (president) its 3 years without a title... too
much

Internazionale v Leverkusen
inter seems strong and leverkusen is not half the team it
used to be.... so ...

Ajax v Roma
young and good team against the hurt roma... no Idea of what
could pass (suggestions?)

Arsenal v Valencia

my heart goes to valencia, but henry and arsenal seem to be
in their year... dont know... but valencia is a hard
fighting team with also great players (aimar, baraja...)

nacmat, ajax are missing half of their players, including
the very best of them. also, ajax are playing psv next
weekend and that's a much more important match for them.

somehow i fear we won't be as lucky as we were against
valencia...

i heard barcelona want van hooydonk! he's 33!!

don't forget arsenal lost against their archrivals last
saturday. they;'re not in top form, if you ask me

I wish ajax won...

I ve always liked ajax since I like barça and when I was a
child my father talked me about cruyff... and then with van
gaal (kluivert, kanu, finidi, overmars, davids, seedorf,
blind, fran and ronald de boer, litmanen...)
now koeman is the coach, he scored the goal that gave barça
our only champions

Congratulations to Ajax, it won a good match against Rome.

Inter won against a easy bayer leverkusen (...great gol
denied by hand at last minute... ehehe)

Very important draw for Valencia against in the hard field
of Arsenal.

Barça-Newcastle utd. postponed today... so great football
today!

today.

I say:

Manchester - Deportivo = 1 - 1

Juve - Basel = 1 - 0
Barça - Newcastle = 2 - 1
Real Madrid - Lokomotive = 3 - 0

man!!! ajax won! and they played so well! roma played
terribly, though. that batistuta goal was lucky, our keeper
is a bit inexperienced.

Manchester - Deportivo = 3 - 2
Borussia D. - Milan = 0 - 2
Juve - Basel = 3 - 1
Barça - Newcastle = 2 - 0
Real Madrid - Lokomotive = 2 - 1

i dunno about man utd-deportivo.... man utd always tend to
lose against deportivo... and barthez tends to make big
mistakes against them...

barça...

btw: i always liked barça and it's my fav spanish team.

When i was a younger barça gave a lession of football to my
juve.

I remember a double match in champion's cup... i think was
1986...

Barcellona-Juve=1-0
Juve-Barcellona=2-1

Juve was really strong with Platini, Boniek, Rossi, etc...
but it wasn't enough and juve back home.

I remember a player from barça in that period called
Schuster...

Do you remember that match or some player of that period?
