the power supply on the server died a couple of days ago,
arzenik finally got to get a new one and install it, so
we're back up. apologies for yet another outage, I know this
has been frustrating for many of you, I do wish I was able
to provide a more consistent service. anyway, for those who
haven't given up on us altogether, thanks for coming back
:)

people shouldn't complain at all. it's not like they are
paying for it...

Nir,you're the man..I thank you personally deeply,because I
download mostly live performances,or just one mp3 here and
there when I'm not so sure on how a specific artist
sound, but as I post before on other threads,I love to
support the artist by buying their releases.....Thanx a lot
for keeping us informed, and Phobia,my phriend,I do donate to
this wonderful site,as I think everyone else should
do...Actually I was thinking on doing the same with
Xltronic.com,because after all,you are the ones who really
work hard day by day for us,in order to keep us
informed.....Love to you 2,Nir and Phobia, keep up the
excellent job you always do....====)

I couldn't believe the high concentration of similar minded
people there. Where else can you find everything ever made
by crunch? Much thanks for providing it, though I'm not
certain in my opinion on the matter of "stealing" from
artists yet. It's obviously very useful and helpful to
everyone, if they required a small mandatory fee for
downloading (and this fee was paid to the respective artist)
I'd be much more approving, but doubt people wouldn't be
crafty enough to find away around it anyway.

well, I sometimes get discouraged by people trashing
soulseek for being offline all too often. can't help but
feel it's not deserved considering I'm just providing a
service that wasn't there before. but then, I always
complain about the stuff I like myself when it lets me down
or pisses me off. it's not because I don't appreciate it,
it's for the exact opposite reason. in a sense I want my
users to have the freedom to bitch and complain. if I want
them to feel they're a part of soulseek without having to
compromise such a basic liberty, I have to accept that. and
outside of a microscopic strand of egomaniacal, plain out of
their mind users with a weak grasp on reality, everyone does
a terrific job of patting me on the shoulder when I do well.

thanks nir glad the situation is improving, i'm sure you
were just as frustrated with it as the rest of us if not
more so

Nice speach, let's elect NIR as our king and overthrow our
entire existing political system. I trust him.

I can understand all that...But,still,I think some of those
who complain should be at the least, donating the small
fee...After all,$5.00 is really nothing compared to how many
mp3 you can download in a month probablly worth over $600.00
in recorded or even on a lot of hard-to-find stuff, wich I
like much...I just hope people can really understand the
excellent job you are doing here, and the time that you spend
in order for us to have the best idm/electronica artists in
just one great site, congrats to you man, count on me,I will
always support your efforts on bringing us this SoulSeek
site........==)

i'd rather put the $5 toward an actual album, but if the
time comes when nir is strapped for cash again i'll donate
at least one month

So we should pay NIR and not pay the artists?

Nope wMw,it's not that...Just keep supporting your fave
artists like you always do...But still,if Nir is giving us
the big opportunity to download exclusive idm/electronica
artists,plus hard-to-find,plus live performances,wich I
personally collect, then why not paying a small fee for his
efforts,after all,as I said before,it will be worth,like
spending close to 900.00 in music and videos, for one
month..................

definitely pay the artists. that has nothing to do with
whether you should make a donation for soulseek or not. just
take the terms at face value, you're more than welcome to
use that system for free. if you want to support us, or
you're interested in the download privileges, and you've
used the system long enough to know you're happy with it, by
all means make a donation.

donate? one WITHOUT a credit card? please let us know!:)

out of curiosity, nir, what are the server specs? i imagine
it would take an awful lot to support a full-fledged p2p
service..

I just wanted to thank you, Nir. there aren't very many
online communities of people who are interested in the same
sort of things as I, in fact Soulseek and this message board
are the only ones that come to mind. nice work. :)
