The first half of trailer consists of ... (begin
spoilers ) a familiar voice over with Alec Guinness.
Fans will love to hear him speak his monologue to Luke from
A New Hope about "Jedi Knights always being the guardians of
peace." As we hear these familiar phrases, they've intercut
shots from various Star Wars episodes, excluding Episode 3.
Only when the monologue ends with "Vader was seduced by the
dark side of the Force" about 40 seconds into the trailer do
we see the face of Anakin. He is partly covered with dark
hood, looking positively evil.
This is followed by the shot of erupting volcanoes, then
some sort of volcanic field with crab-like creatures and
then darkness, all accompanied by Vader breathing. Then the
following is heard:

Sidious: "Lord Vader"

Vader: "Yes master?"

Sidious: "Riiiiise."

Then we see Anakin in full Vader gear rising on some sort of
operating table to which he is chained. The rising is slow
and is intercut with shot of various Star Wars main
characters. When the table has fully risen so that Vader is
basically standing upright, the meatiest part of trailer
begins, with many, many shots from Episode III. Most of them
are very, very short - this will be something for
freeze-frame fanatics to analyze.

the promo posters look alooot better than the final one.

all 3 final posters for the prequels are horrible
(especially the attack of the clones one, yuck). why does
that designer keep putting that ugly lense flare in every
picture? it's disgusting :)

I'm expecting it to suck, but I'm seeing it tonight and will
cast my judgement then.

an acquaintance has just reported to me via icq that the
flick has been a dissappointment. supplied arguments:
lack of action - like historical information, and perhaps
the most sad from all episodes.

i loved it. its definately the most tragic of the films.

[spoilers]a problem was that a trasnsformation of evil takes
time and sneaks up on you, but this had to be done it two
hours and there was a lot of other stuff to say, so it was a
bit cookie cutter to be like "ok i'm a bad guy now" pretty
much, but i didn't really care.

some cheesy things like Darth Vader being Frankenstien,
breaking off of the table didn't bother me.

R2-D2, always kicks in everything. Yoda and Palpatine fight,
including the intro to it was 10x the fight yoda and Dooku
had.

Ewan Mcgregor just did a job beyond all expectation. he owns
this movie.

very nice. i'll see it again a few more times i'm sure.
