hasan says israel refused to lend their iron dome to
ukraine. or refused to give the intelligence for it, i
guess. something i didn't know. (the video just came out but
is over a year old)

I thought the iron dome was air defense missiles, maybe
somewhat automated? No moral judgment but it's probably
fairly effective against the backyard munitions the Gazans
whip up, less so against JDAMs, Iskanders and Oreshniks. The
stuff Iran threw at them seemed to be hitting. AFAIK there's
no effective defence against hypersonics in particular.

they say women were being forced to participate in STEMS in
the SU', only then now for China: ridiculous propaganda

debunked by someone that's not a fool

the lies of brianna wu, by dead domain. i watched half. i'm
embarrassed to say i know so much of this. but it's laid out
very well and also there's a lot of new stuff. can say i'm
banned by wu on twitter :D. the embarassing thing is i lap
up too much tweets about her

I don't think they're bastard children at all, neoliberalism
needs a pretext for hierarchy and locating it in nature is
perfectly compatible.

Most Jews are Zionists. If you hate most Jews you might find
you're a Nazi. And I mean a real actual Nazi, not just
someone whose Tweets you don't agree with, not that sort of
"Nazi". I mean someone (you, a Nazi) motivated by hatred of
the Jews and wishing for their elimination purely because
they're Jews. The occupation of the Dutch duting the war
(something that didn't happen to the British, for some
reason) led to a significant expulsion of the Jews. You'd
think some homosexual that's never actually had a sexual
experience would be a bit less blatant about looking back
with fondness to the "good old days".

in my city there were several May 4th remembrances. the
remembrance that once started to remember world war 2.
interesting details is it took some decades before Jews were
actually remembered and not just Dutch soldiers. which is
shameful, if you look at the numbers (nowhere a higher
percentage of that group killed in ww2 than in the
Netherlands. except Germany, i'm pretty sure).

this year there was an 'inclusive' remembrance. which
included a lot different war victims *including*
Palestinians. also there was a remembrance at the 'homo
monument'. because of logistics, those weren't joined
together, but they did have a satisfactory contact.

thousands of people showed up for the inclusive remembrance.
i was there and i'd like to see it next year as well,
because the big alternative in Amsterdam is way to
nationalist. this year especially with our far right
government attending. i could also go to the remembrance at
the homo monument. or just some other smaller remembrance.

not having some Andrew Tate kind of view of sexuality, is
not the same as being gay. though Andrew Tate would probably
say so; toxic masculinity and patriarchy

right, i advise people to see Adolescense. here
the Guardian review. this review is pretty much spoiler free, but
i'd still rather go in blind

producers Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham. some incredible
production and performances

Nothing will compare to the charge of being a kid seeing the
original trilogy. But Andor is SW for grownups, keeps the
world building intact and offers more characterization,
better plot and dialogue.

Lucas has said that the rebellion was meant as an analogy to
the Viet Cong. Wouldn't be surprised if he's walked that
back since lol.

It’s not hyperbole to suggest that the imperialist wars
waged upon the Global South by the United States and the
imperialist bloc that it leads are akin to a protracted
genocide. The sheer amount of death, carnage, destruction,
immiseration, crushed dreams, is almost unfathomable. But
it’s real. And it’s the status quo for what we love to
refer fondly to as "Western Civilization." And there’s no
other force more responsible for implementing this
protracted genocide on the Third World than NATO. And in
today’s conversation—Part 2 of our ongoing series on
NATO—we’re going to explore the role that this military
alliance has played in the long war on the Third World.

Pawel Wargan is an organizer and researcher based in Berlin
and the coordinator of the secretariat of the Progressive
International. He’s the author of the Monthly Review piece
“NATO and the Long War on the Third World” which we’ll
be focusing our conversation around today.

In this episode, Pawel tells us about the fascist roots of
NATO, its “dark mandate” which ushered in an era of
terror against the populations of the Global South leading
to a protracted genocide that has left tens of millions dead
and even more immiserated. We talk about the way that NATO
operates in Africa, Poland, and how NATO has served as a
leading opposition to liberation struggles in the Third
World and across the globe.

The Long War on the Third World w/ Pawel Wargan
