What are you on about? Yes, if you ask them, people can identify their sexuality. Do you not identify yourself as an heterosexual? Like, I know why you're kneejerking to this phrasing, but self-identification simply means "what people would write in a survey". It doesn't matter if you or I agrees it adequately describes their material reality. But if you were to write "Heterosexual" in the survey, that's an act of self-identification. And they don't have the budget to check. I specifically mentioned men who identify as heterosexual but have casual sex with men. That's a thing. apparently posted in the same kind of subreddits as i and we were in agreement on subjects like white supremacy and colonialism specifically he posted about black creators calling out the whiteness of breadtube and i responded to that post. it was about this video: . which was a kind of addition to F.D Signifier's video's on the same subject pretty upsetting stuff. with less white supremacy and colonialism (ongoing in Palestine, but also still the mindset of the West) the guy wouldn't have done what he did. he wasn't the first to self-immolate in the US. a woman went before him, like half a year ago (i can't new articles on it now). a short video by Bad Empenada in which he calls out the imbalance of attention, when it's a white, military US-citizen that dies. and pointing out liberalism doesn't have a fixed moral core |
