the term "african american" causes racism. a better term would be american. think about it if i have to always use the term african american for a person who has never even been to africa. i should be refered to as "european american". (and no i'm NOTracist.) it will never stop as long as there are groups that don't include all races. remeber the million (black) man march against racism?? what about all the other people? if you weren't a black male you couldn't even get in. just think if there was a million white man march... or chinese man... or mexican... all hell would break loose because that would be "racist"... just doesn't make sense to me. everyone should just chill out and let the past be the past or it will never stop. |

That's a rather rascist question asking to know my genetic makeup! I have small amounts of italian blood and possibly indian too. I tend to get a very dark tan easily- I've actually had people shout "Oi Paki!" at me in the street. Oh and not that it's anything to do with my genetic makeup, but if you think I'm rascist, my girlfriend is a mixture of Polish, russian and Turkish blood, I grew up with lots of friends of different ethnicity and I live with a pole. So there. |

That's a pretty fucked up POV... why can't a black person hold view like cygnus has expressed? One of my friends who is chinese used to make fun of the way people over reacted to accusations of racsim (as they are doing here). He always used to say "It's because I'm Chinese" (in a simialir way that the satirical character Ali G say "Is it because I is black?") whenever someone tried to wind him up or a teacher accused him of something. Man, you never saw people back away so quickly! They were terrified of being seen to be rascist and in trying to avoid being seen as rascist actually behaved in a racist manner! That's the danger of "thought crime" it's a very effect stealth subversion tool. |
