last.fm playcounts; of course, some tracks have been in
circulation longer than others.

My own top three are:
helisophan live, Martins Car LPF, 14 Floating∞

(I'm also having a lot of trouble consuming it; maybe I
should break it up into albums as others have?)

the album sorting is a great way.
initially did that and named em of existing releases
"outtakes"
it does help you get a picture of the whole thing.
Gwely did a nice job of doing this for the 122 tracks
and uploaded a rar in the big thread.
it seems more recently uploaded tracks on sc come after that
era.
so easy to add to itunes or whatever you use as a library.
easy to uncheck tracks you dont want to shuffle,
star tracks you dig a lot..
Another plus with sorted as albums,
theyre more handy on your mp3 player
and make it a bit easier to enjoy outside,
on your way to work e.g. .-)

and yes lots of favourites already,
might put a list in here later.
names foht and sneaky dropped already stuck in my head :)

Japan had me near tears as did most of his tracks (on,
Avril, Fingerbib, 4, 54 Cymru, mt saint Michel, iz us, film)
the ones with super big joyous and relieving feelings, or
mellow moods beyond the sublevel of being calm. Japan is a
fave definetly. There are more on that soundcloud with that
wavbly whacky taffy filter and drum riffs that remind me of
super intense fast tracking and shifting of samples at a
wash of a rate. These are good tracks. These get the body
and mind going.

By the by, is there any way to mass download the tracks,
rather than individually clicking each one? I haven't heard
of a way yet.

the whole bunch is really great, and it really depends on my
mood. Also each track still surprises me at some point or
another, which means it's all too fresh, and too big to
really determine favorites just yet.

If i had to pick 5 right now it'd have to be.

Notting hill bus, acid organ [rough mix], chink 101, slow
early morning, organ epic.

i've only listened through the initial dump maybe a handful
of times, and the most recent dump only once. there were a
couple that immediately jumped out at me "japan" & "ssnb"
and then a couple more that would get stuck in my head and
i'd have to dig around to figure which ones they were "no
cares" and "donkey rhubarb". i just really need time to
process all of this. probably by summer i'll have them all
sorted.

there are some really lush tracks and complex tunes that
perhaps aren't as quirky as i like my songs, but that are
just so intense it's stimulation overload. might be the
reason i've only been able to smooth out some of the softer
more mellow melodies first. i'm sure i'll be pickin out some
of the face melters as well once i get deeper innit.

i'm interested to find out how long this batch will stay
fresh. like, will it hold me over for another year or two or
three or four or five or 10 or 15 or 20? that's the fun part
i guess!

feels like i woke up in an alternate universe. because it
sounds familiar but i can't place any memories with it.
feels like that moment right before you die when your life
supposedly flashes back before your eyes. really what it's
doing is recreating the feeling i had when i first
discovered aphex in . like i said, i can listen to a song
and be like oh yeah that's icbyd but i have no memory
attached to it, like i do with every song on that album. eh,
this whole thing is giving me strange weird feelings. i'm
starting to question reality. goosebumps, man.

very nice indeed.

^ 28 organ is undoubtedly great but its hard for me to
listen to because it reminds me of the style most idmers
have tried to emulate over past 15 years or so. I dont have
a prejudice but its mostly Americans who bastardize this
style (overly twee stuff), no offense intended as there are
tons of great america artists, just with it being a larger
population there is more shit ones as well/

P - String is awesome and gives me some of that glorious
NEXT HEAP WITH vibe that almost no music can evoke for
me....

BTW, some time ago you closed a mix with the start of 101
rainbows? I think that opening is beautifully distilled and
quintessential aphex (the soundcloud dump has the elaborated
form, "5 scorrier", which aphex said came before the cleaner
form "101 rainbows"...).

Always happily on the lookout for your mixes =)

sline is epic. reminds me a lot of autechre too.
ssnb is a beautiful tune, dunno if i prefer it w/wo beats.
theyre both great.
slow bird whistle has a lovely melody, although the high
pitch bird chirps gets a bit intense.

want to mention barbarella on microdots too. kinda weird and
funky, and has great samples.

i love how he (they?) perverted the whole soundcloud/digital

using anonymous names, hidding tunes amongst different
