Blaming it on myself? Are you a psychiatrist or what? Of course, my enviroment has/had an influence on my behavior - it had an influence on my behavior, because it shaped the person that i am today. But, now it is the the time to put an end to it. It is time to ignore, yes ignore, most outside stimuli and behave how i want to behave.
I can't kill people, cause it is against the law. But of course if some people would die, i would feel better. This is so fucking obvious, it is laughable.

Social phobia, is not a mental 'illness', but maybe a self defense mechanism against fucking retards, who aren't be able to fix their fucking lifes. It is disgusting how much human contact leads you to more mental suffering. It truly is. So choose your friends wisely, because most of humanity is dirt

You do not get to vote in a committee and make something a disease. Diseases are FOUND, NOT VOTED IN AND OUT OF OFFICE. Psychiatrists are the same people who told us gay was a disease! A Difference is Not a Disease.
And the facts are pretty clear, there is no empirical evidence that mental illness have a biological origin. And of course these people will be pissed off. They widley accepted the labels society and 'medicine' gave them, so they don't have to take responsibility for their own lives.

Well, it is hardly anything new i write here. There is lots of literature out there, that deals with this subject. Also there is the anti-psychiatry movement. To sum it up: Life is hard, and not every unpleasant emotion is a disease or needs treatment.

Monoid, yes it's probably true that what was once considered a character trait could now be marketed as an illness by pharmaceuticals etc.. but please do not go on to generally dismiss it all as being nonsense. Maybe you don't know what you're talking about because ...argh fuck it. I thought Stephen Fry put it well when it comes to the mocking some people get.

Yes, i never said people didn't suffer. I said the concept of mental health is flawed and so is the institution of psychiatry/psychotherapy. These things need to be critically examined if one truly cares about the well being of ones fellow men. Well, anyway, thankx for not insulting me this time.

often it's good to get an external opinion, as some of your perceived shortcomings might be imagined etc. and therapists can do that. on the other hand, therapy is very personal. finding a therapist you can work is difficult for some people. at that point, you may as well just put the effort into finding friends instead, because that's what you're really looking for.
on the other hand, some people are dumb as rocks and all their friends are dumb as rocks. for that crowd, what you do is you write their names on ping-pong balls and then build a giant squarepusher coathangar and carve the name of a therapist into each cubbyhole, lay it down, and then drop the ping-pong balls from a great aerial height; person ping-pong ball gets assigned cubbyhole therapist. but, truly, you are better than this monoid. i know it

i don't really get the whole transgender thing. if i could try things the other way for 24 hours, no strings attached, i would, absolutely. but if you feel like your body is "wrong" i almost wonder if that's actually a body-image disorder like bulimia, but i hesitate because people used to say being gay was a mental health issue. maybe it's the result from some stray strand of DNA leftover from frogs, which the frogs use to change their bits like in jurassic park. i think i should submit this post to academia for peer review.

I agree with you on the concept of psychiatry: it's old and needs to change immensely, changes are going on right now but it's not going fast. That is the problem with big systems: it needs time to evolve.

I think you can also blame our culture on it where people desperatly try to be happy....yet this actually leads
to more unhappiness.
Yes. Ideals of happiness have been created in modern society to perpetuate the same concept of false happiness for those who already have it. But this is not a lasting happiness, as it is based on material goods as well as mental states of perceived happiness. True happiness cannot always be perceived as sensation of pleasure or well-being-- only drugs can leave one in this state of happiness, and even that has limits due to tolerance and overdose. So even at the brain-chemical level, it is impossible to maintain a solid state of conventionally perceivable happiness. True happiness is everlasting and feels more like contentment and even just having the idea that one is fortunate to be conscious. True happiness cannot be based on anything external to the self, as that starts the snowballing effect of needing more to continue to be happy (due to tolerance). So it's definitely true that the pursuit of happiness for most leads to an unhappy state, as they are searching for things that cannot lead to happiness. This is generally due to these people not having a sense of self, so they are accepting the values perpetuated by popular media. For those fortunate enough to find themselves, they might be unhappy in their search for happiness, due to actually trying to find something that is already inherently part of the self. So with the self-found people, while their lives are generally better due to surrounding themselves with people/places/things that are most true to the self, any unhappiness can still exist due to the false idea that happiness is some sort of ultimately pleasurable state or something that can be acquired externally. So basically, if one is unable to find happiness in solitary confinement, they will never find true happiness when that solitary confinement is expanded to the illusion of interacting in an external world (i.e. life).
