Every time stuff like this happens you're guaranteed to read
the following:
"OMG the whole world has gone mad"
"People are sick"
"Sarcastic blaming on the muslims"

fuck, unrelated, but i just found out one of my best friends
in high school, the person who i completely cut my teeth on
psychedelics with, his little brother died in a car crash
over the weekend.

not a good day. thankfully i'm gonna be off work in 10
minutes and am going to smoke as much ganja as humanly
possible for the rest of the day...

i guess my personal reaction is: the fuck is the point of
this?

about all i read from it is that someone is very twisted and
hateful.

i remember when planes hit 9/11, i cracked a few jokes
during some strange period slightly before too soon. maybe
it's just a mechanism to avoid thinking about things too
hard.

Points: 25264 Status: Regular

yeah, as soon as i turned the scanner on they're talking
about suspicious white backpacks. i'm not even sure if it's
boston or just some suburb cops bugging out.

So much blood on the floor with people laying down. The
worse is that guy who lost both legs.

Once you see this video with the explosions going live you
won't feel like making jokes anymore:

I do not condone any terrorism but can under stand why they
would choose military, government, big financial
institutions etc. The majority of the people running are
raising money for charity. What a horrid misguided target

Simply easier and guaranteed lots of coverage too.

It's grown children having a tantrum. Murdering and
affecting the lives of as many people they can.

What desperate world of cunts.

Thankfully the instintive bravery of those around things
like this fills me with enough faith in humanity.

very sorry for the victims, for those in boston and those
who die from bombing every single day in irak, siria,
palestine, israel, afghanistan...

If they had attacked a military target, what net effect
would it really have had? It might've made the tiniest,
nearly immeasurable dent in America's armed forces, which
would then be recouped practically instantly by the
military-industrial complex. I see this as more of a
reaction to all the civilians that are being unjustly killed
in the middle east. The people responsible for this don't
want to (because they can't) hurt the military, they want to
hurt us, the civilians. And they did.

offline Nooge on 2013-04-16 17:00 [#02454080]

And, to echo nacmat's sentiment, my heart goes out to all
the innocent victims of the Boston bombing as well as those
who are being killed by US drone strikes in the middle east
right now.

bit angry at those in this thread who prefer to politicise
these deaths by drawing it into their feelings on bombings
overseas, but i get why u feel that way (and you are
basically right to be touchy about the imbalanced coverage)
my laptop is rly bad and it wont load most of the news pages
on this. from what ive gathered my bets are on it being a
right wing american type with shit to tell people.

imo that's one of the worst things about mass killings these
days - it takes a solid 30 minutes for someone to turn it
into their soapbox for a completely unrelated issue.

one more thing about terrorism. its a common beliefe with
people like us that islamic terror attacks are revenge
against opressive agendas. most are actually attacks on
civilians in muslim countries like in africa ect. its
usually a technique to control people and to make them
disatisfied/scared/angry. its political. blowing up stuff in
america gets nothing done, blowing up your own people makes
a lot more sense.
actually the best thing to do is attack your enemy and wait
for them to come and blow up your people in retaliation. you
can now introduce your fundamentalism to people who are
willing to be radicalised.

if there's anything to learn from these attacks, it's that
we haven't been scared enough, haven't been suspicious
enough of the "other," we've been too happy AND DAMNIT THIS
HAS TO END BECAUSE WE ALL COULD DIE AT ANY MOMENT!

Did you hear that 'family guy' the TV show had one of the
characters kill lots of runners at the Boston marathon so he
could win first place and he also set off 2 bombs via a cell
phone in the same episode ( but that was in a different
scene)
