i saw a video of a recent gig where he played this really
skrillexy track with squarepusher melodies on top..
hoping it won't be like that.

all of you are wrong. listen to this:

"I've started thinking about pure electronic music again.
Something very melodic, very aggressive."

it's Go Plastic, part deux.

his schizophrenic rave / free jazz personality has come full
circle and he's back in 1999 now.

(i hope)

if squarepusher released a dubstep sounding album i would
probably like it because he made it, he is quite good at
making music. whereas the SHIT dubstep artists out
especially us dubstep BLECKKKKK

even new mouse on mars album has that wob wob wob, but used
wisely...proper tools in proper hands, finally

i do enjoy some very few dubstep actally. LAZY_TITLE i
don't look for it but i somehow come across it since it is
very hip and all these days. imho the sample in that video
kinda scares me.

Isn't "new squarepusher" an oxymoron?

it still has that pitch-shity ring mod bass sound of his
which he can't get enough of recently. conversely, i have
had plenty of it.

I would rather pusherstep than just a souvinir or that
shoeboneleader stuff, that was sort of weighing on me.
Anyway looking forward to this.

great news!
im glad hes back in tronics,
even if just a souvenir was on of his best albums (really
creating something new in music imo), hes quite unique at
creating mad beats and amazing crispysynthy melodies!

there are other artists as good as squarepusher but i can't
think of any that are actually in a higher league. i don't
enjoy all the tracks but i love buying the records and
checking them out properly etc, you know it's going to be
crammed with ideas and feelings whether they are to your
taste or not. i.e. you shouldn't really mention boc, ae,
clark in the same breath

well, at least not clark

Squarepusher is in his own league, for sure.

and that what makes certain artists extra special, talented,
unique whatever you want to call it. extrapolating one's
thoughts into this, one will find the reason why WATMM blows
so hard compared to this place.

boc and ae are special for their own merits. you wouldn't
compare them to squarepusher as they make very different
music anyway. all are fantastic (except clark obviously,
lulz)

I don't agree with the clark hate, but he's no Squarepusher
:)

Judging by the two clips posted on youtube it's going to be
shoba part 2, or maybe shobaleader done right.

it's not just you. The only squarepusher I've ever liked is
Go Plastic. Clark on the other hand has 2 great LPs, 1
that's mediocre and one that's horseshit.

I like squarepusher better than clark, the guy makes
unbelievable music, even the albums I didn't like, I sort of
liked!! No one else is like that. But why is clark even
being mentioned? Btw I really like clark as well. However I
hope this is not shoba 2
