well deserved?

hmm, i disagree. maybe holland didn't deserve to win, but
spain's goal was pretty unimpressive and had the ref on
their side.

i don't really care that much as the whole dutch patriotism
was getting way out of hand. honestly, fuck the colour
orange. it's atrocious.

had there been a shootout, we would've probably lost anyway.
and to win in this way is crappy.

congs spain. congs holland.

holland had several benefits on the road to final and
tonight as well for what i've seen. the game was very
boring

another world cup has gone

it could have gone both ways. if holland had won, it would
also been well deserved imo.

lol
van bommel. people either love him or hate him. there's not
much in between. i assume players in general would be happy
to have him on their side.

congrats spain! the team with the best game won, thank god.
wouldn't want to think about a winning holland with their
opportunistic game.

I was surprised with netherland´s game plan

de jong and van bommel should have been red carded in the
first half

anti football lost for once

spain world champions!

jump in the river after the game and we drank something

With all due respect nacmat but your remark about anti
football lost for once
is a bit overexaggerated. Sure,
Holland lost their cool and de Jong should have been sent
off with a red card and Robben deserved another yellow card
but the overall play wasn't anti football.

The spirit of the whole match was heavily disturbed by Webb,
he didn't let the game evolve by interrupting the game too
much for silly foults and dives on both sides.

It was like 51 to 49 that Spain deserved to win imo because
they did manage to score. The fact that the attack of the
goal of Spain came into being after Webb gave Spain a goal
kick instead of a corner for Holland really bothers me. What
also bothers me is that the two yellow cards for Heitinga
were dubious as much as Puyol's attack on Robben, that could
have been his 2nd yellow card as well.

The course of the match was pretty much disturbed by the
referee and this is not the first time this WC.
It's time for the FIFA to play with the assistance of
technical help. Only then fair play is achievable. They just
can't see everything which happen on the field.

ooh, I forgot to add this: I was surprised with
netherland´s game plan
. As if they planned to play like
this... Holland never adapt their play to the opponent. It
was the course of the game which make you believe they
intend to play like that. Take a look at all the games
before this final, this sure isn't the way Holland play
normally.

offline momomomomo on 2010-07-12 20:49 [#02386681]

if holland didn't play that way, we would be talking about a
3/4-0 for spain

+ it would have been a big shame if holland won,

holland did have its chances, but if a team that is
technically inferior, in this case as a collective as well,
if they don't score those 1-2 occasion that the stronger
team leaves.. they just punish you

it's teh football

also good that Forlan won the MVP

at this point iniesta replaced sneider in the run to the
Ballon d'Or

imo spain deserved to win coz it all comes after a lot of
years of work, players knowing each other from a lifetime,
ect.

it's a sort of revcognition to spanish football

let's all go living spain

aesthetics:

I have admired holland´s football ever since I knew about
ajax 1971-73
evenmore, spanish football has a big debt with holland for
its football concepts, as spain´s structure relays on
barça´s team highly influenced by dutch coaches and
players in the last 30 years. in the past I myself had
usually cheered for holland once spain was out of the
tournaments, beacuse I always loved their football

but I disagree with you
eventhough the referee was awfull, it was not his fault that
the final was like the movie "gangs of new york"
it was holland team that decided that to stop spanish play
they had to be making fouls all the time... and they did
some really harsh fouls... it was referees fault not to red
card van bommel and de jong before the first 45 minutes...
and its funny that some dutch players complaing about the
corner that was not given before the goal, after all that
the referee had helped them throughout the match
they even said the goal was offside

holland players knew the referee wouldnt red card anyone too
soon in a worldcup final, and so they started a real
slaughter specially van bommel, who is the worst kind of
sportsman I ve ever seen. de jong was really harsh on that
one kick to alonso, but you can understand he didnt plan
it... but van bommel was a real bastard all through the
match. he even asked for iniesta to be sent off cos the
spaniard had pushed him right after the dutch had done
another ugly tackle on him

as you said, holland didnt play like that against other
rivals, but they did against spain, because they decided it
was their only chance... they changed due to their rival...
it was not the referee´s fault, the referee´s real fault
was to be so bland with holland players in the first 45
minutes
spain also commited fouls of course, but nothing more than
what you see in every football match

spain wanted to play the ball, holland didnt

yeah spain was a bit better.also holland have them self to
blame for playing to rough.i do not understand why they have
to take those stupid fouls when they would be fine just
playing aggresive but smart(not taking stupid fouls),they
could have managed it as good stopping spains play just
being aggresive to the ballkepper and with good presure
where the action was.also i think holland forgott about
having an own good passing game becuase they focused to much
about taking bad fouls and being to aggresive.

BTW, stats for the WC:
Holland: 22 yellow, 1 red
Spain: 6 yellow

The dutch team is a bunch of motherfuckers.

Holland played like shit (waaay below their capability)
throughout the tournament and made it to the final. Spain
played impotent football throughout the tournament (least
productive winner ever) and won it. Conclusion: terribly
boring tournament and thus a fitting final.
