now that ive got money,
i cant remember what i wanted to get...
suggestions?

(i like original hard beats, folkish melodies, bizarre
compositions, fresh ideas, anything good after all)

if you like the sound of bagpipes,
get your hands on a real mckenzies album.
its straightforward punkrock with, you guessed it, bagpipes
:P
i suggest either "loch´d and loaded" or "oot and aboot"
not really folkish but good and you just might not know it.

i think thatll be the final purchase:

- warpmart : los angeles + ventolin ep > done

- boomkat : impakts12 + hauschka's

- ebay : joanna newsom first album > bidding

'los angeles' is great. so is '1983' and 'reset' though, so
get those the next time you've got money.

how in the fuck can downloading give you the wrong
impression of the music? are you really that elitist about
your vinyl or what?

yeah, if you can find
and theres a good bunch of
special music on soulseek.
just prelisten.
support the artists you really love,
and when you dont find it you can still order it
unlistened,
as you are used to do.

im just curious, do you sell a lot of music,
when you order but dont like it?

i always go to beatport i have too much money. it's one of
the most efficient ways of losing some money on music, i
think. really. you should try it. you'd be amazed.
especially if you only by wavs.

offline melack from barcielwave on 2008-11-01 04:52 [#02249327]

yea, ive tried that downloading process you say, but it
didnt work, its not elitism nor nothing, its a personal
thing, dunno why, its like it breaks the magics of getting a
new album, discovering the graphiks and letters and things
and then play the music for the first time and having a full
first impression that will change with time and
listenings... i know it sounds kinda bollocks, but its just
the way i like

i can understand that. being a member of the generation that
grew up with cassettes and cds and not vinyl with the big
elaborate album art, the involved process of actually
switching sides... i never really did that. i suppose it may
have further cemented my fascination with pure sound, fuck
genres, personalities, politics, i just want to hear
something awesome. although i would say checking out a video
or two on youtube or an aritst's myspace has to be analogous
enough to listening to a track or two in the store. don't
necessarily listen to whole album, but at least get a feel
for what you're getting into.

sorry, my brain is still somewhat awash with serotonin.
