Who think that Confield is a masterpiece sign here and tell
why.
Everyday I like this album more, I think it's totally
innovative, it's amazing and it represents maximum level of
sound's
electronic technology.

In this period Autechre are the more advanced electronic
musicians, imo.

The cover cd rapresent perfectly the sound of the album.
First time who I listened Confield I said "What is this?!?"
"It isn't music!" but now my opinion is totally different...
this isn't music for human's ears... Ae come from another
planet, mates.

Track#1 is simply incredible, I love the melody who start at
1'58"... Ae combine a lot of rumors and sounds with melodies
in the background.... but every single rumors and sound has
a own sense and logic.

Confield is a sheer MASTERPIECE...Easily Ae's best work.

Everytime I listen to it, which is almost once a day...
I am reminded of laying your ear up to the ground outside.
Especially in the grass...All of the sounds you can hear,
big and small, common and unrecognizable...Each one making
your mind think and bringing out different moods and ideas.

(Signing my name now!!!)

yep confield is a masterpiece... just everything about it...
starts off amazing, and then gets really obscure with tracks
4,5 & 6 its almost like 3 phases... and lentic catachresis
has too be the best final song on an album ever...

I agree. It's a masterpiece, especially with the knowledge
that it's all calculated. No random shots. Every single
layer in those tracks have a special purpose.

Pen Expers, for example... I can't imagine how this track
could have been made better.

Confield is an album that will grow with time and I can
understand the fear some people are feeling during the first
listening. Just give it some time.

Yes woofer. It is pure class.
For me it is its 3d qualities. I can listen to it so mant
times and it just gets deeper and deeper. For me it is like
an engrossing film. I have to fully concentrate on it or
else it is lost.
Only some music merits this kind of attention. I feel lucky
to be able to listen to such music. It is something I could
not concieve of only a couple of years ago.
Blessed by thy confield
amen

I can't say it's a masterpiece, even if I love it...it's a
sort of testament of the kind of work autechre put
on...it's heartless and I like it for this, only my mind is
involved when I listen to it...this is, actually,
braindance
my score to confield is 9/10

confield is the best album they released, imo. but it's not
easy to listen to. other albums by autechre i can play for
days in a row, while with confield i can do without it for
weeks after i played it one time. and then when i do play it
again, i'm reminded of the utter brilliance.

Confield needs a special listen and a special attention...
it isn't easy to understand but when you find the right key
for open the mind... you fly in a new universal electronic
sound.
I repeat Ae are really advanced...

I hope Richard D. James will give the right answer to Ae
with release of a new experimental album special as Confield
is. I know who RDJ has the class for make it... and I hope
he'll make it.

I think they work with different attitudes..afx is not so
obsessed with experimental works...infact he releases music
he has produced some years ago...and still druqks>confield
even if I adore both of them...

heres a fact for you-autechre wanted to call confield
'010101' with its release date on new years day-however no
distributor would touch it as it was new years day so they
had to come up with another title-there aren't any promo
copies bearing this title though...

mmmnnn-not sure if id label it a masterpeice-i do think its
amazing/brilliant & i do think its ae's best to date-it
stricks me as a concise output of their ideas to date. im
really into their output of late-ep7 just caught me off
guard and confield was a tighter version of ep 7. i sorta
didnt get lp5...dunno some of their stuff mid career im not
that arsed about to be honest..

yes-honest! not a wind up i promise you! i had a mate who
worked at warp-in fact if you look at some of the artists
biogs on the warp site, he wrote them!! (boc, plaid,
broadcast, ae, aphex, jamie liddel) talented man, however he
got sacked-(boo). autechre werent too chuffed, but they
couldnt find a distributor on new years day-besides there
arent many shops open..

In the fist 90's Aphex Twin was experimental like now are
Autechre, imho. Try to think... to SAW 85-92, SAW II, ABB
series, first drill'n'bass, etc... now RDJ seems to lose a
little bit of his innovative ideas.

only in the end, and my favourite is uviol...confield should
be the matrix movie soundtrack

I think one of the more innovative AFX tracks in DRUKQS, is
Gwarek2... this track is really innovative.

Try to imagine a totally new album with a lot of new sounds
like Gwarek2 but with the melodies of SAWII, i.e.

Come on Richard it's time to change style... stop to
drill'n'bass and go with new ambient/experimental sounds.

I think the most experimental work of 2001 was double figure
by plaid.I've read that afx thinks that bbydhyonchord has a
new sound...

it's a piece of brilliance that needs to approached with an
open mind. i think you have to be familiar with AE's music
before attempting it. but yeah it makes sense after the
progression of repetae, chiastic, lp5... it's just
brilliant.
