Well it was back in October when I first said it was going
to be a double album. ;)

good colour, nice layout, self-consciously scrambled font...

still waiting for that 2-cd confirmation/denial

offline nacmat on 2007-12-21 13:03 [#02156622]

why 20 tracks would mean a double cd?

how many tracks does geogaddi has?

offline rad smiles on 2007-12-21 13:09 [#02156625]
Points: 5608 Status: Lurker

that'd be great if quaristice had little ambient interludes
between massive songs.

offline avart from nomo' on 2007-12-21 13:58 [#02156641]

I want long involving and evolving tracks... (no small
filler tracks)

20 trax doesnt mean double album though

you get that info?

you know what'd REALLY be funny? if all of the
misinformation was picked up by warp as fact and designed up
as the album sleeve etc.

yeah, that has striked me too - setting tracktitles after
fans mock-ups (like peel named the 2nd sessions tracks)

cover art = tragedy. rip autechre. you just don't give a
toss anymore, do you?

Has autechre had any releases since amber that contained
anything other than fonts and vector art?

I guess draft and untilted have actual "artwork" but it is
still all pretty minimal

smaller file size, can be infinitly reduced or enlarged
without pixellation or distortion, great for logos..

Seriously though I think autechre's art has always fit the
music. Most of their sounds are generated by some sort of
synthesizer in the music so it seems appropriate that the
artwork would be generated by a computer.

They are not gonna "lay down some guitar" so why would they
"scan in a photo"

offline Vin3islih from United Kingdom on 2007-12-21 15:04 [#02156695]

The leak had guitar and vocals. It was definitely Ae.

offline glasse from Harrisburg (United States) on 2007-12-21 15:04 [#02156696]
Points: 4211 Status: Regular | Followup to cygnus: #02156683 | Show recordbag

I mean for me personally I like a blend of organic and
electronic based stuff, be it audio or visual, but ae have
always been pretty purist about being electronic with the
exception of the occassional vocal sample from a vinyl that
is cut up and blended back in the mix. That works for them,
in fact it is kind of a signature aspect for them.

I didn't hear it yet, but that sounds interesting. It
seemed like after Draft/Gantz, with Untilted being kind of a
side step, that the next thing they did would have to be
really fresh and redefining. I'm glad they decided to try
something like that. does it work?

holy shit! i totally didnt believe that 20 track tracklist
:O
it is a weird choice for an album art, but im cool with it.

they've done the crazy glitched out imagery enough .. i
guess : )

(is drukqs even considered acid?).

for me: old equipment, basic drum sounds with minimal
effects, squishy high pitched almost-8-bit melody
patterns.

not all of it is bad, i just have enough already to last me
a lifetime.

offline cx from Norway on 2007-12-22 04:00 [#02156874]

you ever hear the quest by drexciya?

thats an amazing album i heard, and its all old equipment,
you should check it out if you havent to maybe reform the
genre a bit for you :P

theres not that much 303 on it though which is usually the
sound people have heard 100011283129 times and react to.
