Primer... NA/5, since I don't really know what to make of
it. I'm going to have to read an essay about it and watch it
again. I don't think I liked it that much, it's just a
filmical Rubix Cube I feel a need to make some sense of.

The God Who Wasn't There - 3.5/5

Not the most informative the-case-against-God-and-Bible type
of "documentary" I suppose, but still engaging.

It lacked information in general, was more of an angst rant
from an ex-christian. It didn't really portray good points
either, a christian could easily retort things said in that
documentary without scratching their heads for a bit.

yeah, all of my friends said it was awsome, I guess they
hyped it a bit to much then along came I just a bit to late
and saw it and wasnt THAT impressed, thought it was funny
though (and the sex scenes where pretty cool) 6 out of a 10
isnt bad though (in my book)

Talledega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. 8/10 Good
laughs but not at first. The movie slowly/randomly
progresses the first while, then after everything settles,
the funny is in.

filmed. Like panic in needle park. Its like you go back in
time.

maybe you should learn to rate movies correctly: First you
must weigh the value of goodness using a purely objective
opinion, and then apply the appropriate number. on a scale
of 1-5, only apply 5's to movies that had a high level of
good and no badness. rate highly bad movies a 1. extremely
middle of the road movies should only be given the rating
"3" and not a 4 or a 2 which should be given only to movies
that are slightly above or slightly below medium good,
respectively.

following these guidelines, you should now be able to rate
movies accurately and appropriately.

I will not follow your guidlines, I will rate movies the way
I want to myself. However I will not become a movie critic
and I will not force other people to listen to or follow my
ratings. I only did it for the free point..

Besides, it's wrong and not even possible to review movies
in an objective way. If you are just taking the piss, I
excuse my slight ranting. It's late at night / early
morning.

old boy is damn boring

i was thinking about my own rating system while watching "29
palms" by Bruno Dumont. the interpretations of the film at
imdb.com which i read after viewing it made me lol. why ?
i'd have to give spoilers so i just direct you there :
www.imdb.com

anyway, i rate this film 2/5 why ?

5 = film that makes you go hmmm.....classic film that moved
me and is MY private all-time fav and classic, e.g. blade
runner, return of the jedi, hannibal, apocalypse now, alien,
trainspotting, requiem for a dream.

4 = very good, better than good, excellent but not that good
as "5" - only some films deserve the "5" rating.

3 = just a good film, no flaws for me, no greatness but
still good, average, alright, plot, acting, everything
alright. well done.

2 = good plot but bad acting. good acting but poor plot or
scenario. lots of amazing fx but poor acting [e.g. star wars
3] = might be a good film but someone fucked it. either
director or actors. weak and lame. and poor.

1 = everything poor, bad, shitty and weak. not cool at all.
i only watched it because sylwia asked me to or i was
curious how shit the ending would be. or the beginning of
the plot was promising but director couldn't handle the
scenario at all.

0 = piece of crap, a gift for enemy, i stopped watching it
in the middle or after 15 minutes. horrible. very bad and on
my blacklist.

---------============---------

p.s. some of you who rate films on a 10 point scale - would
you care to explain how you manage to evaluate a film 3.5/10
or 6.3/10 ? assuming it's not a pisstake.

i usually don't mind if a film is "objectively" marked as a
"B" or "C" class film , it can get 5/5 too - if i love it.

i agree about king kong. saw it in the cinema where there
were special kong kocktails and a huge model of skull island
around the screen and really enjoyed it. watched it again on
DVD and without all the spectacle the films faults really
show. really poorly paced and written.
