there are plentyof great american movies coming out!!
and plenty of awesome directors:sean penn, gus van sant,
jarmusch, spike lee, wenders, woody allen (yes i like him
:), david mamet, todd solondz (not sure...he might be
canadian), coen brothers, ...
i named just a small part of directors that produced real
good films in the past couple of years...there are plenty
more..

yes but when 99% of the films shown here are hollywood films
like AvP and Princess Diaries its difficult to get to see
the decent films. You should see the lineup of films at my
local cinema! Coffee And Cigarettes isn't even released yet
and i'd rather see that than any other American film thats
been shown here over the last year. But yes, there are good
films coming from there, I guess I just need to make more of
an effort to see them than I should need to.

surely you have some film festivals...and some 'art'
oriented cinemas??
and you can find most of it on p2p too :)

nice to see kirsten dunst is taking part in new copolla's
flick!!

well 21 Grams, Cat in the Hat, Mona Lisa Smile and
Wonderland were on at the last film festival here and none
of them interested me.

The only arthouse cinema here shut down in the Summer but
luckily someone has bought it and is re-opening it November.
Its the oldest cinema in Britain.

excellent...btw, the art cinemas in my town are having rough
times as well...ppl just aren't into this sort of films for
some reason..

i kind of liked 21 grams, though i wish it would have had a
bit less dramatic ending..i loved the 1st half of it!

i thought it was hillarious and violent. 2 things that rank
highly in my 'what makes a good movie good' criterion list.
so i liked dawn of the dead especially when they blow up
that propane tank and it's all bwoom! and the zombies get
laid out like BLAM! like when you blow up zombies man, man
THAaaaaaaaats what its gonna look like fuck yeah BWOOM!
yeah.

Dawn of the Dead (new) was hilarious! Esp when they were
naming famous zombies-a-likes to shoot. No great acting or
even a good storyline, but the film was well entertining

AvsP- 1/5
