for the road i give 2/5
the films music ruined my viewing experience
the kid was particularly bad
i tried to watch it twice but just couldn't....
this is not a classic and wont look good or be remotely
interesting in 10 or 20 years time

you know i'm right

LOL, I actually thought of both movies vaguely when watching
it, especially with the wings being cut off and all

just watched this movie on blu-ray for the 100+ viewing and
still:

Dawn of the Dead (1978) - 5/5

Halloween 2: Directors Cut (2009) 2.5/5

Very great gore, something I like in horror movies. As far
as story line, it is lacking. The re-occuring appearance of
Rob Zombie's wife even tho she is dead leaves me to believe
he was like, don't worry babe, it doesn't matter that your
character was killed off, I WILL STILL GET YOU TO BE A
LEADING ROLE (there are even more flashback type scenes of
her in the director's cut)

i watched that the other day. was ok. kinda exactly how i
imagined from the book. lost a lot of the emotion of the
book though, and rab c nesbit was awful in it.

Dawn of the Dead (2005) - 2/5

Finally got around to watching it having heard it more than
just a pointless re-make but it was just that, a pointless
remake. Zombies that run as fast as the T1000 in T2, please.
And what is with the super high contrast and colour
saturation, thank god that fad didn't last too long. Gun
Porn, yawn...if I want that i'll watch a John Woo film where
it's done well.

Best bit was the Jay Leno and Burt Reynolds scene.

yeah

hurt locker was well crafted for sure. a lot of well
executed tense moments, and it had a pretty strong message
about the mentality some young men are taking into war
situations.

but it wouldnt be my best pic oscar wise either. it was a
pretty shitty year for movies, but I'd have to go with A
Serious Man (cohen bros).
