Take a look to the actual poll... Geogaddi seems to be the
best release in 2002 for xltronic community.

my vote went to GG..
i know it'll never bore me, just like confield
plaid and BoC do get boring after a while imo

I voted Astrobotnia series.

kind of weird thing happened with me and astrobotnia
i loved it at first, i find it quite boring now, dont know
why really because in a way i'd want to like it but i just
cant
hehe, no much sense in this :)

Gave my vote to BoC. GG is the second best I think. I would
like to hear the new D'Arcangelo. What's it like? Good?

it is pretty good, it reminds me of astrobotnia part3 a bit

GEOGADDI was easily the best album in 2002 when it comes to
braindance!!!

Its a classic braindance album, one of the best ever made.

For me it was a toss up between Astro & Geogadid, but I went
for geogaddi in the end. The AB series I consider more like
commercial dance- whilst easily accessible, I know in say, a
years time there will only be a few track on astro that I
still play regularly (Lightworks, Acidophillus, Applause,
etc.). Geogaddi on the other hand is an album I will listen
to time and time again. I had it as sleeping music last
night.

offline Jarworski from The Grove (United Kingdom) on 2003-01-13 03:43 [#00512171]
Points: 10836 Status: Lurker

Bah, Geogaddi is severely overrated... I haven't played it
for months now, although I keep going back to MHTRTC...

I voted for Plaid.

looks like GG is gonna lose the poll..

think it's also 'cause it's not a whole album like geogaddi
i think, looks like people tend to choose an album rather
than an EP..

or there are just a lot of BoC fans :D

badass....

But I still went with BoC

i went for dyksp, even tho i like only 5 out of 7 tunes and
i havnet listen to that live cd much yet
but those 5 are so brilliant, that it wasnt really a tough
decision

I went for a walk in the woods at night v. near a full moon
at the weekend and there was a melody from Geogaddi looping
in my head. This makes Geogaddi best.

Bitch believe Geogaddi was the best in 2002. And yes, I
heard it before MHTRTC, I can say that if I would have
bought MHTRTC first, I wouldn't have even bothered with
Geogaddi.

C'mon Jello! You've got a lot of catching up to do! I blame
the initial typo.

offline WooferAttack from Milano (Italy) on 2003-01-14 09:39 [#00513820]

Some consideration...

D'Arcangelo and Jello (aka Bola) are the less voted for
Xltronic community, the third in this black list is Global
Goon with his Vatican Nitez.

Geogaddi is winning this poll without any problem, while
Astrobotnia has a good second position and it's a really
good result for a debut.

Gantz Graf is the first between ep release, follow Plaid and
Squarepusher.
I can bet who Tom Jenkinson will be not happy of this poll
result...

It seems that Warp beat Rephlex in 2002.

eps and lps cant be compared imo. i prefer gg, but i prefer
20some tracks to only 3 tracks.

but who cares, jello - voile is by far the best :)

i voted plaid because p brane is really great. geogaddi is
very good, but i still prefer MHTRTC,i'm listening to gantz
graf a lot in this period but it's hard to consider it the
best of 2002,vatican nitez is so relaxing but the tracks are
very similar between them,i haven't do you know sqp so i
can't judge but i've read bad reviwes and people here don't
care about that album too much, astrobotnia should be very
good as all ovuca stuff

geodaddy was wack as are alot of thier records - this one
was just horrible though - awful self obsessed opressive
sound - they do some good stuff sometimes but this wasn't
very good

i disagree with you astrid. i think it's a difficult record
yes, but it kind of separates the hardcore from the herd as
far as fans are concerned.
geogaddi was a lot less commercial and a lot less accessible
than MHTRTC, but it has more in it.
most bands go in the other direction, and end up getting
really popular because the music is getting more 'pop'.

geogaddi is a long drwan out drawl with only 2 good tracks.
astrobotnia grows on me everytime i listen to it (them).
d'arcangelo is good but not half as good as their other
rephlex album shipwreck.

offline Zeus from San Francisco (United States) on 2003-01-14 17:32 [#00514323]

ive said this 1 million times:

Geogaddi is the ying of MHTRTC yang.

Its still in the same circle (style), but is contrasting....
MHTRTC is dreamy and peaceful, while Geogaddi is dark and
evil.

End of story.

If you dont like the darker style, fine. But dont say its
shit, cause its so obviously not.

I don't like it that much... Venetian Snares is always using
the same old drum samples. I still prefer Songs for my
cats
or Doll Doll Doll.
