Your first time buying any form of music that is...

For me it was the summer of 1989 and a 7" single of 'Right
Back Where We Started From' by Sinitta, purchased from
Woolworths :P

probably 1993 or 1994... it was either Green Jello (the one
with three little pigs) or Pearl Jam (with jeremy). i owned
music before that, but it was the first time i picked up
music on my own, fifth grade.

'Come on Eileen' (someone did) by Dexys Midnight Runners
(1982). (cough...)

Yeah,Vanilla Ice...I have 'Extremely Live' which has a
kick-ass version of 'IIB'.

Didn't he do a 'grunge' version a few years back?

i'm not even joking, man. Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer were big
at that time. "Ice Ice Baby" is on the album, yes. But IIB
is nothing compared to the funkness of "Life Is A Fantasy".
Awesome track...even today.

cut like a razor blade

I have no idea... my first cd was:
def leppard, the album that they released in
1992(september)... I was 16 and thats too late maybe, but I
didnt have cd player till 1993(january) so...

but now I dont remember the first music I bought... well I
am into music since 1987 when my father gave me a tape of
queen, but I dont know if I bought any tape... then my
parents bought me "Use your illusion" by guns and roses in
1991.
really from 1987 (I was 11) to 1992 (my first cd) I pretty
much listened to all the tapes my father gave me from his
youth (leonard cohen, queen, shadows...) and I didnt really
investigate in actual music till I got into metallica, queen
(by my self) anthrax...

man now I cant stop thinking... which was my first
purchase????? how come I cant remember??

my first college years

The first I remember went something like this;

Enigma - The Return of Innocence
Dr Spin - Tetris
Rednex - Cotton eye Joe (Fun fact: This has been reissued as
'2002 mix')
N-Trance - Set you free CD1 & CD2

Things are better for me now as although the stuff I listed
may have been shit it was thanks to trying to track down
Rednex releases I found out about how shady the music stores
where. It wasn't long before I dug and dug until I found the
music I should have been buying since day one. Rephlex and
the like.
