thanks for the feedback for those who did. i was a little dissapointed that only two people said anything, so a big extra thanks to those who did. and something off-topic that sort of caught my attention. i'm a little suprised that alot of people think autechre is going down hill. i think confield is their best release and i think that they generally get better as time goes by. i'm not a huge fan off the older stuff, my strong liking usually comes in around chiastic slide / envane and such. although vletrmx21 is amazing. i was just kind of suprised, but it's my opinion and it's probably because of what region of music i came from before i got into idm, but who knows. well anyway, thanks again for the feedback.

listening to it now... i like the beginning, nice flowing 'bells' sound, maybe it would be better if the rhythm sounds were less obvious; . hmm, it doesn't really evolve which isn't nessecarely a bad thing but with this track i miss some changes in the music imo. oh! wait-a-minute here comes the last part. hm, don't really like that, now the sound becomes too 'cheepo synthy'...
d/l-ing the 2nd track

getting four people to listen to your tracks while this is the only thread you've posted in is pretty good going - normally, noone would respond.
anyway..
"first post" - the bells are nice, although repetitive and static, so they become kind of boring quickly. the track lacks direction. the percussion is overall pretty bad - you need to drop it and try to redo that, imo. try to make your own drumsounds - sound like pre-set drum sounds to me. they are just too bland.
"second post" - I like these bell sounds much more. the percussion works better here too - only after about 20 seconds you kind of drop back into that lull of a percussion you have in "first post" too. I just don't hear the purpose of the percussion here. you could drop it alltogether and the track would only get stronger. you could use the high tone that you repeat already, as a kind of "marker", thereby creating a rhythm.
don't be afraid to NOT have percussion in your track.
in general, it sounds to me like you haven't really made clearcut choices. this results in the tracks missing direction, thereby missing a kind of tension. you can hear this mostly in that both tracks are too long, imo.
finally - like the overall hiss through the tracks. is that on purpose, or do you have dated equipment?
ooh. I've written a bit of an essay.

I like that picture of you. ;)

Not bad. :) I dont know anything about music making. I dont really like how the drums go with the bells, but I like the bells a lot with the high hat (?) sounds. Heh, see, I cant do this. I cant identify anything at all. Im stupid.
I should just stop.
Oooh here we go. I like the first one about 2:25 into it. Thats really nice. :) This niceness continued til about 400, then I got lost. ;) Interesting... *turns down computer because my dad is trying to sleep*

thanks qrtr for the feedback, in depth as well. thanks lindsey for the feedback as well and the note over at diaryland. and regarding the hiss, it's definitely because of outdated equipment.

Youre welcome. :) By the way, I liked the second on too, but either it ended abruptly or something in my computer crashed and I couldnt hear all of it. :| I liked what I hear though, but I was confused by the ending. Maybe it was just too late at ngiht for me. ;)
Take care! :)

Nice entrance to the board m8, I liked the songs although the bells on the 2nd song were kinda tearing at my lame speakers.
